⚡ Sunday Emergency Call-Out – Bournemouth ⚡

A flat was left with no power overnight, so we attended first thing on a Sunday morning.

Fault finding led us to a burnt neutral connection at the main switch, causing complete loss of supply. The faulty component was replaced, all connections checked, and power safely restored.

The surprising part? This installation is only around a year old. It shows just how important thorough initial verification and correct torqueing of connections is before an installation is energised.

Another fault diagnosed, repaired and the tenant left with power again.

💧 Water Leak Led to These Electrical Defects (2018 install)

This rental property was booked in for a routine EICR, but the inspection uncovered several issues caused by water ingress into the existing consumer unit.

We found:

* Water entering through an oversized cable entry.
* Meter tails that hadn’t been correctly glanded.
* Copper oxidation on the neutral supply tail.
* RCDs failing to operate within the permitted trip times due to water damage.

We carried out the remedial works by replacing the consumer unit with a new FuseBox board complete with Type A RCBOs and Type 2 Surge Protection, replacing the supply tails, and correctly glanding the new tails through the bottom of the consumer unit.

This job is a great reminder that an EICR is far more than a tick-box exercise. It helps identify hidden defects before they become a serious safety issue, giving landlords and homeowners confidence that their electrical installation is safe and compliant.

🔧 Project Complete in Hardley 🔧

We’ve recently completed an electrical upgrade for Parkes Autos Ltd, delivering a safer, more efficient workspace in their garage.

Our works included:
⚡ Installation of new power supplies for 2 vehicle ramps
🔌 3 new socket outlets installed on a new dedicated workshop circuit
💡 An upgrade to led bay lighting to improve visibility and working conditions

To allow the ramps to operate at full height, we removed the existing containment where the old lighting trunking was installed too low. We then and installed a new wall-mounted tray system for power and adapted the existing trunking throughout, ensuring a neat, compliant, and practical solution.

Another successful project completed by Phase One Projects Ltd, supporting local businesses with tailored electrical installations.
