Smart new step built

Some of you already know we have been working on very special community project at Knightwood School - and here are the developments - which include, raised planters, polytunnel, fruit cage, cold frame, compost heap and much more. Looks great and we can't wait to see this project all planted up. The lads have worked through some incredibly tough temperatures this summer, but they've finally made it :-)

Not everyone gets to hear of the good things happening in our community -
🌱 A little local project we’re very proud to be working on! 🌱

We thought we’d share some progress from our current project at Knightwood School, where we’re helping to redevelop a large area of previously unused land into a fantastic new growing and learning space for the children. 🌻🍓🥕
There’s been quite a transformation already!
We started with a large, overgrown area which needed clearing, excavating and levelling. Since then we’ve created the new ground levels and begun building the growing area, when finished will include:
🌿 Large timber raised beds
🍅 A large 18ft polytunnel
🍓 Fruit cages
🌱 A cold frame
🪴 Dedicated growing and planting areas
The photos show just how far the site has come in a relatively short space of time — from rough, overgrown ground to something that is really beginning to take shape.
There’s still plenty to do, but we’re really looking forward to seeing the finished area being used by the children for years to come.
☀️ Today, however, the tools are down!
With temperatures climbing again, it’s simply too hot to safely carry out this level of physical landscaping work through the hottest part of the day, so the team are having a well-earned break from site today.
We’ll be back at it as soon as conditions allow!
It’s lovely for us to be involved in a project that will have such a positive and lasting benefit for a school right here in our local community. 💚

🌿 Weekend inspiration at
Hampshire Carnivorous Plants 🌿

This weekend we took a trip to Hampshire Carnivorous Plants — and what a fascinating place!

They’re true specialists in their field, growing an incredible collection of carnivorous plants, from Venus flytraps and sundews to some spectacular pitcher plants. 🌱

Their expertise speaks for itself — an astonishing 23 consecutive Gold Medals at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 🥇🌺. That’s quite an achievement!

At Hiltingbury Garden Services, plants and gardens are at the heart of what we do, so we love visiting specialist nurseries and growers and seeing the knowledge, skill and dedication that goes into producing exceptional plants.

A beautiful garden isn’t just about patios, lawns and landscaping — it’s the planting that brings it to life. 🌿

We’re always looking for ideas, interesting plants and a little inspiration that we can bring back to the gardens we create and care for across Hampshire.

A brilliant visit and definitely one for fellow plant lovers. 👏🌱

A little milestone for us today.

Our advertising board has just gone up at Southampton FC, St Mary's stadium. As a small local landscaping business, seeing our name there is something we’re genuinely proud of. Darren has supported The Saints his whole life and I've been behind them for 25 years as my second team.
