If you ask us for a quotation , please make sure you read the quotation properly and dont just skim to the bottom as this can have an irreversible affect on our business .
Recently we had a prospective client accept our quotation for a full garden renovation.
We went through the finer details of the project and agreed on what they wanted and had the materials lined up to order.
it became apparent that they had only skipped straight to the end of the quotation and hadn't read anything other than the lowest of several quotations detailed thinking that the whole garden was to be done for less than half the cost of the materials alone.
This wouldn't normally bother us but we had blocked several weeks out of our calender for this client ( telling other clients we couldnt do their projects until after this ) and had also wasted over 10 hours working on the quotation and drawings for free.
We now have immediate availability for 6-8 weeks and we are trying to book projects in for this time .
This sort of thing could be the end of smaller businesses and has left us in a very difficult position.
