🎨👑 DESIGN A RAT KING PEST PATROL MEMBER!
We need East Sussex’s young artists to help us create a team of friendly characters who teach children how to keep their schools clean, tidy and protected from unwanted pests!
Your child’s character can be a superhero, animal, robot, insect, magical creature or anything they imagine. They can also give it a name, gadget or pest proofing power, such as spotting crumbs, protecting packed lunches or detecting gaps where pests could enter.
Preschool drawings and colourful scribbles are very welcome!

One valid entry will be drawn at random to become our Pest Patrol Leader and win a Pest Patrol Bug Hunting Kit!

With permission, every submitted design will be polished into an illustrated Patrol member and included in our team “photo.” Characters may also appear in future weekly children’s pest facts and prevention tips.
Characters can be named after their creators using the child’s first name, or we can give them a special Patrol name if you prefer.
📧 HOW TO ENTER
A parent or legal guardian should email a photograph of the drawing to:

Please use the subject SCHOOL PEST PATROL and include:
• Child’s first name
• East Sussex town
• Character’s pest proofing power, if it has one
• Parent or guardian’s name
• The following permission statement:
“I confirm that I am the parent or legal guardian of the child who created this entry and give Rat King Pest Control permission to display the drawing and create and share an illustrated Pest Patrol character inspired by it in its social media, website and child friendly educational materials. I DO / DO NOT give permission for my child’s first name to be displayed and used as the character’s name.”
Please delete either DO or DO NOT.
We will not publish children’s photographs, surnames, schools or addresses. Entries will remain private until the competition closes.
📅 Closing date: 8pm on Sunday 20 September 2026
Free entry. Open to children living in East Sussex. One entry per child; siblings may enter separately.
