Another powerflush completed last week, The customers Radiators weren’t even getting to 30 degrees and the boiler was cutting off on overheat!

The system was pretreated with a strong cleanser 2 days prior to the flush, 4 hours of flushing and all radiators are now heating from top to bottom and exceeding 70 degrees on each one, the central heating system was then treated with an inhibitor to help prevent it getting this bad again! Another powerflush completed by Ek gas,not a huge amount of sludge from it but system water was very alkaline (ph 12.5) and causing joints and seals to leak continuously. Powerflushed the system in 5 hours after pretreatment few days before. (PH level 8.1)

One good reason for getting your boiler serviced annually.

This promax boiler’s burner seal had corroded and failed allowing products of combustion to enter the combustion box.

If not caught on annual service this could have lead to sensors being damaged due to heat from burner or even warping of the burner door etc. thankfully caught on time and repaired.

Another full central heating powerflush carried out in Glasgow, this one was the real deal, the sludge in this system was stopping more that 1/4 of the systems radiators working properly! Pretreated with a cleanser and then flushed for over 6 hours to restore heating to the full system, a new pump was fitted on the system too as the old one was over 24 years old!
