Finishing touches (to the plumbing) in the Southside belter bathroom. And plumbing in of the kitchen sink! 👀

A really great week for catching small jobs. Solving a good few plumbing disasters for folk. 👏🏼 as well as a couple of last minute emergencies getting sorted rapid for a couple of ViPs 😜

And - of course - as you all know by the previous post - we said bye bye to our star boy, big bad Brad the rad as he finished his apprenticeship and looks to move on into the world of commercial gas. After a bit of raving and misbehaving in September first of course 🕺🏻💃🏼

August in review! Staff in, staff out, staff shaking it all about. 🛠️

Weeks 32, 33 & 34 at the Plumb Squad! 🚐💨

2 new first-year apprentices through the door, while our OG apprentice is working down to his last few days with us. 😢

There’s been PLENTY of exciting jobs on the go too. A wh***ey distillery laboratory job, a coffee shop renovation, both alongside Very Good Joinery 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽, and plenty more besides. Jamie Paterson

Front and centre on our own radar, we’re creating a bathroom in the middle of a spacious hallway in Finnieston 😬🔥 and all is going well so far! KT Tiling LTD and in plastering next.

We’ve also been working on a beautiful big tenement bathroom in the Southside, which is just about finished — and a few other cracking bathrooms have been completed amongst the bigger projects over the last few weeks! 🤩 Coral

Stress has definitely been higher lately, but that comes with the territory. We’ve had a few wee niggles to deal with — more than just the usual weekly madness of running a wee business! 📈💻

We’re doing our best as always, getting through the jobs, keeping things moving and trying not to lose the plot along the way. 😂…. I’ve balanced it all out by recently having my birthday at the beach and running a marathon on a treadmill, among other relaxing activities 🏃🏻‍♂️☀️

Welcome to Plumb Squad Aaran 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽 Hope you enjoy your first week at college Aaran 🎓 Happy 19th Birthday Aaran 🥳 Happy new car Aaran 🚗

So much to celebrate and no wonder he looks so happy! A big few weeks and months for the young prince of plumbing 🛠️

Aaran first contacted Plumb Squad a couple of years ago seeking an apprentice, but we weren’t looking for any apprentices. ☹️ So Aaran went to college himself, done a plumbing course, got himself some work experience, watched alllll the YouTube videos, even done the plumbing IN HIS FAMILY HOME as well as other skilled labour during the family home extension. He signed up with an organisation called Aspire, who helped him out on various work trials to try and find employment…

Then! After all of that, he ended up back where he started, knocking once again on the door of Plumb Squad ✊🏼👊🏼 and this time the timing was perfect!

Delighted to have Aaran working with us 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽 and I can’t remember the last time I was inspired or impressed as much by the attitude or work ethics of a teenager 👏🏼👏🏼

Aaron’s key worker Debbie, who supported him while he was looking for employment, visited us on site last week with a photographer, so we’ve some more snaps to share, and a few thank yous to those who made it all come together 👏🏼

Week 31 @ the plumbing. Early mornings 💪🏼 late nights 🍼 sleepless nights 😂

Top floor flat bathroom ripped out, layout slightly changed, and room put back together ready for tiling. East Kilbride. 🙌🏼

New radiators and valves fitted, and some plumbing odd jobs completed. Will be back to take the rads off for decorator in a few weeks. Baillieston. 🛠️

A wee cloakroom job in Hairmyres, EK. Ripped out the old units and altered pipework to prevent any pipe boxes. Walls plastered, PVC ceiling and new lights. Back to fit out after painter 🎨

Loads of boiler services, and strangely 3 toilet seats in the one week 😂 plus a 4th that we managed to damage ourselves - lesson for the apprentice, don’t stand on top of toilets. 🫪

This week we welcomed fans favourite Kenny boy back to work following some time off with the family to soak up becoming a dad for the second time! Baby Luna Knox arrived a few Mondays ago is only just over 4 weeks old! Many congratulations to all of the Knox family 🫶🏻🌸

Plenty small jobs, a few wee snags, job measures, quotes, and a couple of emergencies to fill the week. We go again next week with 2 bathrooms starting Monday and Tuesday 🥳🚽 enjoy your weekend! 🎉

Weeks 29 and 30 👀🛠️

Loads of plumbing on the go, loads of problems solved, loads to be happy about. 😬

Another bathroom finished up and handed over without any fuss in Hairmyres 👏🏼

A WC completed in The Village, although we are going back soon to carry out an alteration - moving the towel rail the opposite wall. 😧

A WC upgrade for our pals at Ferrari Packaging. 🚽

Radiator upgrades in Cambuslang. 🔥

Bathroom upgrades in Cambuslang. 🚿

Removal of cold water storage tank, and installation of new kitchen sink unit, at a car garage in Paisley. 🚙

Turned an unused cupboard into a functional downstairs toilet, East Kilbride. 👏🏼

Plenty plumbing alterations, coffee machine instal, wash sink instal, kitchen plumbing, radiator work, at Toro coffee shop, Southside. ☕️

Kitchen plumbing at a big Reno in the Southside where we’ve already done radiators and will be back for the bathroom 😍

Quite a few small jobs sprinkled all in between - various tap replacements, leak investigations, and repairs, boiler services, and of course the inevitable snagging visits that you can’t shy away from when you’re a reputable business completing so many jobs across the month. 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽

Week 28 🌅👨🏻‍🔧⛰️🚐🐬

Was out of the plumbing van and in the camper van for half the week, so you’ll need to swipe through the pretty sunsets and dolphins before you get to the plumbin!

We had a few days at Glen Coe, Mallaig, Fort William etc, while the young team held the fort back here for the majority of the week. Mostly bathroom prep work and jobbing about.🛠️

We assisted the Very Good Joiners on a kitchen job with a neat first and second fix by Brad the lad. We are back there next week to fit a radiator after the floors been fitted.

We had 2 bathroom jobs on the go, the first had been ripped out the week before, and has since been put back together and tiled, and will be fitted out and finished next week.

The second was a wee cloakroom but probably had more work in it. We stripped it back to brick and altered all of the plumbing, re routing some pipework and installing a new stopcock and a sure stop. Then we had Connor from VGJ in with us to take care of the framing and sheeting, then Dougie plastered the ceiling. To be tiled and completed next week. 🥳

Wee had some smaller jobs to care of; Rur and Aaran made a nice job of replacing a free standing bath tap and a broken tile in Newton Mearns, a couple of grab handle bars were added to a recent shower instal, then to finish the week we were making plumbing alterations to a commercial kitchen in the city centre, including fitting a new grease trap and tidying up waste pipework. 🍽️
