Behind every successful project is a team bringing together different skills, experience and expertise.

We're putting the spotlight on some of the people who make it all happen at Valley Builders, starting with Director, Sarah Baggott.

Sarah joined the business in September 2012 and became Director following her father's retirement, after he had spent 40 years running the company.

Today, Sarah oversees Health & Safety, HR and business management, helping to keep everything running smoothly both on and off site.

From rural building to contemporary family home.

Set high above an agricultural valley in the Sussex countryside, this project transformed a substantial 335m² building into a five-bedroom home designed to make the most of its remarkable setting.

A large existing opening frames views across the landscape and fills the main living space with natural light, while charred larch cladding gives the exterior a contemporary finish that remains sensitive to its rural surroundings.

Inside, vaulted ceilings create a sense of scale across the open-plan kitchen, dining and living space, with bespoke timber panelling, polished concrete and natural oak bringing warmth and character throughout.

Energy performance was also central to the project. A highly insulated envelope, triple glazing, passive ventilation, ground source heat pump, photovoltaic array and battery storage contribute to an EPC rating of 122 (A).

A fantastic example of contemporary residential construction, bringing together craftsmanship, considered materials and exceptional energy performance.

The work on a construction project doesn't begin when the first materials arrive on site.
