Dream Home in the Kent Countryside Shortlisted for Award!

One of our newest case studies has been shortlisted for ‘Best Timber Frame Home’ at the Build It magazine Awards 2026.

Situated in a picturesque rural location between Tenterden and Rye, the site offered the clients the perfect blend of countryside living and a close-knit community setting.

The surrounding area is characterised by traditional cottages, and the self-builders wanted their new home to sit comfortably within the existing street scene.

The design the clients selected was a charming dormer bungalow finished in soft cream render and warm clay tiles.

Its low-profile form helps it to blend seamlessly into the landscape, creating a home that feels both timeless and appropriate for its rural surroundings.

As our Ashurst project moves closer to completion, the finishing touches are starting to take shape.

The carpentry team have now fitted the interior doors, supplied by JB Kind Doors.

For this new bungalow, we selected a contemporary door style to complement the clean, modern interiors. The white doors feature distinctive grooved ladder panels, paired with contrasting matt black handles.

Combining style and practicality, the handles have a knurled finish, creating a subtle textured surface that improves grip while adding an industrial-inspired touch with a luxurious feel.
