⚡ THIS ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION FAILED MISERABLY! ⚡🚨

We recently carried out an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) at a property in Horley, and what we discovered was seriously concerning! 😳

❌ Excessively high end-to-end resistance readings on a ring final circuit.

❌ Split conductors indicating potential breaks or faults within the circuit.

❌ Multiple electrical non-compliances.

❌ A number of other concerning defects uncovered during testing and inspection.

⚠️ Just because your sockets and lights are working doesn’t mean your electrical installation is safe!

Some of the most dangerous electrical faults are completely invisible until proper inspection and testing are carried out.

🔎 This is exactly why EICRs are so important!

At LJ Electrical, we don’t just tick boxes. We thoroughly inspect, test and investigate electrical installations to identify potentially dangerous defects before they become serious problems.

🔥 WOULD YOU HAVE THIS IN YOUR HOME? 👀🏡

We’ve been playing around with some ideas for a modern media wall, and this design is definitely one of our favourites! 😍

🖤 Black acoustic slat panelling
💡 Integrated LED lighting at different heights
✨ Sleek, modern finishes
🪵 Stunning herringbone flooring
📺 A clean, contemporary TV setup

The idea is to create something that looks incredible during the day but really comes to life at night! 🔥

And with the right LED installation, you can completely transform the atmosphere of a room at the touch of a button.

💬 NOW WE WANT YOUR OPINION!

👇 Would you have something like this in your home?

🔥 LOVE IT – I’d have this tomorrow!
👍 LIKE IT – But I’d change a few things!
❌ NOT FOR ME – Too dark!

And here’s another question… would you go for warm white LEDs (3000K) or cool white (4000K)? 💡

⚡ EICR FAULT — WHAT WOULD YOU CODE THIS?

During an EICR, this downlight was removed for inspection and significant thermal damage was discovered at the connector block.

The connection has clearly been overheating, resulting in burnt conductors, damaged insulation and melting/discolouration of the terminal block.

Q: What would you code this on an EICR — C1, C2 or C3?

A: C2 – Potentially Dangerous.
The circuit should be isolated as necessary and the damaged connection, conductors and any heat-affected equipment replaced before being returned to service.

🔥 This is exactly why EICRs involve more than simply taking test readings. Visual inspection can uncover faults that otherwise remain hidden above the ceiling.
