Sometimes key design decisions have to change once you're on site and start the installation, especially in older houses where they keep some things to themselves until you start peeling back the layers!
In this kitchen, the original plan was to fit the extractor into the existing chimney. Once work started, however, we discovered that the chimney space and lintel meant the planned solution simply wouldn’t work.
Effective extraction was particularly important to the clients, so we redesigned this element and specified a powerful downdraft extractor instead. There's always a great design solution; it's just sometimes not the first one!
