Last week was a bit of an emotional one! 🥹
After 4 years of working alongside me in Paint Palette Decorating, my sister Claire retired last week. Alison had already stepped away last year — and honestly, having them both with me while building this business has been one of the greatest gifts.
Running your own business is tough. Having your sisters there with you makes it so much more than just work. Fun, emotional, sometimes chaotic, and they genuinely got me through some really hard times. I’ll always be grateful for that.
Claire sent me off with the most gorgeous card, Drumstick Squashies, Rhubarb & Custard Haribos AND the most incredible sticky toffee cake made by my niece Liv — she absolutely smashed it 😍 Claire definitely knows the way to my heart 😂
From Monday 13th July I’m starting a new chapter too. Two days a week in the decorating business doing the smaller jobs I love, and joining the team at Bristol Clear — a waste management and house clearance company — three days a week.
After everything these past 3 years, it’s time. Time for a better work life balance, and it feels like exactly the right moment.
