❤️ IT’S NOT JUST ABOUT LOCKSMITHING… IT’S ABOUT THE PEOPLE. ❤️

First of all, a massive thank you to everyone who took the time to offer advice and help me out with setting up my new Starlink internet in the van. I had suggestions coming in from TikTok, Facebook and Instagram, and I genuinely appreciate every single one of you taking the time to help. 🙌

As you’ll see in the video, I managed to get it positioned in the front windscreen, but when it came to wiring it all in and getting it working… well, that’s a different story! 😂

So I headed over to see my good friend Chris at Ultimate Auto Locksmith, who kindly helped me get it sorted.

But this video means a little more to me than just getting internet working in the van.

Chris is currently going through an incredibly difficult time following his cancer diagnosis, with treatment still ahead of him. Yet he’s still getting up, facing each day and fighting on.

People like Chris remind me that no matter how difficult life gets, you keep fighting.

The auto locksmithing industry can sometimes be full of negativity, sarcasm and people who are more interested in putting others down than helping them out. But there are also some genuinely good people in this community who are always willing to offer support, share knowledge and lend a hand when it’s needed.

Chris is one of those people, and he’s been fantastic to me. More importantly, he’s a very good friend, and I’m genuinely grateful to have him in my life.

Chris, mate, I want to wish you all the very best with your upcoming treatments. I hope everything goes as well as possible, and I hope you know how many people are rooting for you.

🔑 VW PASSAT SPARE SLOT KEY | YARM 🔑

A job in Yarm this morning supplying a spare slot-in-dash key for a VW Passat.

In the video I explain why it’s so important not to lose your only working key on these vehicles.

If you lose the only key, the job can become considerably more involved. The glove box needs to be removed to access the comfort module, which stores the EEPROM key data, before the vehicle can be sorted.

That means more work, a bigger bill and, of course, more stress.

Thankfully, this customer decided to get a spare while they still had a working key.

I supplied, cut and programmed the new key, with the customer back up and running within 45 minutes of my arrival. 🔑✅

This one was a bit of a noisy one! 😂

The customer called me because their existing key wasn’t working correctly and the car’s alarm was going off loudly.

I was on site and had the job completed within an hour of the initial phone call.

I supplied, cut and programmed a brand-new spare key, as well as reshelling the customer’s existing key to get that one back into good condition too.

The important thing here was the customer didn’t wait until they were completely stuck with no working key. Getting the spare sorted now gives them a bit of peace of mind and avoids the potential stress and expense of an all-keys-lost situation.

Another job done in Shotton Colliery and another customer looked after. 👍
