🏥 Project Update: Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust - Hull Royal Infirmary SDEC 🏗️

We're pleased to share an important update on our project at Hull Royal Infirmary, where we are delivering major improvements to the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) department, one of the hospital's busiest areas 💪

📍 Where we're at:
✅ Asbestos removal works safely completed
✅ BSR (Building Safety Regulator) sign-off now secured following a lengthy approval process
🔨 Demolition works underway
🎯 Contracted works anticipated to commence on 12th October

The BSR approval process is a rigorous one, and rightly so given the sensitivity of works within a live healthcare environment. Following the extended review period, we are now moving forward with the project.

🏥 What we're delivering across SDEC:
The scheme will deliver a significant transformation of the department, creating:
🚪 4 additional consultation rooms
🪑 5 new pre-operative chair bays
🛏️ 9 new trolley bays
🧼 A new clean utility room
🧽 A new dirty utility room
🚻 New toilet facilities, including DDA-compliant accessible areas
✨ A modern, welcoming reception area to enhance the experience for patients, visitors and staff

Delivering a project of this complexity within a live hospital environment takes serious coordination between our site team, estates, clinical teams and specialist contractors. Every move carefully planned, every activity coordinated around live clinical operations, and patient care never disrupted 🙌

🛒 Another one done and dusted... Aldi Doncaster is officially handed over! ✅

And what a project this one turned out to be. Not only is Aldi Doncaster now open for business, it's also our biggest scheme of the year so far 💪

Here's the scale of what our team took on:
📏 1,235m² salesfloor
⏱️ 14 days of enabling works within a live store
🔒 10 day store closure
✅ Full handover delivered right on programme
That's a serious amount of work packed into a very tight window 🎯
🔧 A look at what we delivered:
⚡ Heating and ventilation upgrade, including air source heat pumps
❄️ CO₂ refrigeration upgrade
🏗️ New plant enclosure, including slab extension, palisade fencing and acoustic timber panelling
🛒 Full salesfloor clearance
🟦 Brand new magnetic vinyl tile floor covering across the whole salesfloor
🧾 New tills
🛍️ Removal and reinstallation of self service checkouts and associated furniture
🚨 New security tagging gates
📦 Full shelving upgrade, including ambient, produce and specialist fixtures
🎨 Decorations and decorative wall boarding across the salesfloor
🏠 New warehouse ceiling following the mechanical works

🎉 Celebrating 4 years with Garry Acton! 🎉

A belated but very well deserved shoutout as Garry Acton recently marked 4 years with Zenith Developments Group! 🙌

Garry joined us back in 2022 as our Senior Contracts Manager, bringing over 22 years of experience in the construction industry 🏗️ Since then, he has been overseeing projects from tender through to completion, ensuring every scheme is delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards.

Known for his strong leadership, clear communication and sharp problem solving skills, Garry has been instrumental in driving successful project outcomes across the business and has become a key part of the team along the way 💪

🏘️ Next up... two more schemes on the horizon! 🚀

We're delighted to share that our team will soon be starting on two brand new schemes with our client Amey 🙌

📍 Catterick - 25 properties, kicking off on 12th October
📍 Fulford - 9 properties, kicking off on 19th October

That's 34 more homes heading for a full transformation over the coming months 💪

Both schemes will follow the same full refurbishment blueprint as our recent work at RAF Wittering, including brand new windows and doors throughout, alongside full internal refurbishments to bring every property up to the highest standard 🏠✨

Fresh off the back of successfully handing over 12 homes at Wittering, the team is more than ready to hit the ground running 👏

A huge thank you to Amey for the continued trust and partnership. We're really looking forward to getting stuck in and delivering another cracking set of homes 🙌

We're delighted to share that our team has officially completed 21 properties at RAF Wittering for our client Amey 🙌

And when we say every corner has been touched, we mean every single corner 💪

Here's what our team delivered across all 21 homes:

🍳 Brand new kitchens
🛁 Brand new bathrooms
🪟 New curtains throughout
⚡ New wiring throughout
🚰 New plumbing throughout
🏠 New loft insulation

Basically, if it was in the house, we replaced or refreshed it ✨ 21 tired properties transformed into modern, warm, comfortable homes ready for the families who'll call them home 🏡

Massive credit to our site team, subcontractors and supply chain who put in the graft to get these over the line to the standard our client expects 👏

Zenith Developments Group has been appointed to Hull City Council's Priority Streets Framework.

The four-year framework runs from 18th September 2026 to September 2030, covering delivery of the De Grey Street Frontage Improvement project alongside future frontage improvement schemes across the city.

This is a significant milestone for Zenith, reflecting the strength of our submission across technical delivery, health and safety, social value and price, and a proud moment built on the hard work and commitment of the wider team.

Thank you to Hull City Council for the opportunity. We look forward to a strong partnership over the coming years, delivering high-quality, well-managed schemes that make a genuine, lasting difference to residents and communities across Hull.

🏟️ Six weeks. One serious transformation. 🔨

Two weeks of demolition. Four and a half weeks of graft. And these spaces are now match ready for the Premier League 💪

From the Whiteley Suite to the media rooms, changing rooms to the players' entrance, every inch of these spaces has been stripped back and rebuilt from the ground up ✨

None of this happens without a proper team behind it, on the tools day in day out, weekends included, to hit the deadline dead on 🙌

🚀 Big promotion news! 🚀

We're absolutely delighted to announce that Ross Armstrong has been promoted to Contracts Manager! 🎉

A word from our MD, Calum Preston:
"When Ross joined the business nearly five years ago, he was, in my words, a bit of a rough diamond. The raw ability was there, the attitude was right, and the potential was obvious. But there was still plenty to learn and develop.

Fast forward to today, and it's fantastic to see just how far he's come.

Over the last two years as Project Manager, Ross has consistently shown the drive, ambition and commitment needed to make a real impact on the business. He's taken on responsibility, pushed himself to develop, and helped push Zenith forward with him.

What stands out most is his ability to build relationships. His interpersonal skills have earned him the respect and trust of colleagues, clients and our supply chain partners alike. He's grown into a strong leader, and importantly, someone people genuinely want to work with.

One of the things I take the greatest pride in as the owner of Zenith is seeing our people develop and progress within the business. Promoting from within is incredibly important to me personally, and Ross is a fantastic example of exactly why we believe so strongly in that approach.
