Arbroath for this one!

This customer got in contact through Facebook, and asked us to manufacture & install our Leaf & Frieze to a ground floor bathroom in a property that is getting renovated.

If you weren’t aware, we do plastering too!

In this case, we had a customer at Thornton who had a ceiling collapsing and giving way from the original lathes.
However, the cost to remove the ceiling and replace it as original, as well as repairing the damaged cornice, was more expensive than the client had hoped.
So we came up with a solution. To build a false frame below the cornice (that was braced to the original timber joists), sheet it out with plasterboard and skim the new ceiling!

The finished result was a perfectly smooth, flat, level and straight ceiling (unlike the original!)

We had also returned later to install some basic coving around the perimeter of the room to complete the look (however I forgot to take pictures of that!)

The customer was glad that the situation was rectified in a very cost effective manor 😀

Over the past few weeks we’ve carried out various cornice matching jobs.

Jumping between St Andrews, Glasgow, Wishaw and Milnathort, these are just a few of the jobs we’ve been at!

2 totally different matching the existing jobs this week!
You’ve already seen the first one, the matching and replacing the damaged ceiling rose.

Here, there’s been damp and rot! The Preservation Company secured us this job. Their amazing team went in and sorted out the damp and rot issue, leaving us to copy the cornice and the wall frieze.

The end result speaks for itself, as per usual!
