This new customer got in touch with us for a boiler service and repair after experiencing issues with their existing heating system.

Following our inspection, it became clear that the boiler was unfortunately beyond economical repair, so we discussed the available options and agreed on a replacement.

Due to limited space beneath the boiler, we also installed an external filling loop at a more accessible height to make topping up the system easier if ever required.

To finish things off neatly, the pipework was concealed through the rear of the installation and routed into the eaves space, giving a much cleaner overall appearance.

🔧 Boiler Replacement & Kitchen Upgrade Preparation 🔧

On Monday we were tasked with replacing this Vokera Mynute combi boiler, which had been poorly installed by a previous homeowner.

We’ve actually maintained this boiler for the last two years and carried out a significant amount of safety work when we first attended, as it had multiple installation defects. The customer wasn’t happy with the boiler’s location or the overall kitchen setup, but we made everything safe and kept the boiler running until the time was right to replace it.

Some of the defects originally identified included:

❌ Flue poorly installed and unsupported
❌ Loose flue joints with missing fixings
❌ Flue joint buried within the wall
❌ Flue unsealed internally and externally

To allow the new installation to be carried out correctly, the customer stripped back the kitchen wall panelling so we could relocate the boiler onto an external wall. This allowed us to install the flue safely and fully in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

The surrounding walls are now ready for plastering and decoration, and we look forward to seeing the finished result when we return for its first annual service next year 👍🏻

🔧 Boiler Replacement in Dundee

This customer was on a maintenance contract with a well-known national company, who had investigated a recurring pressure loss issue on several occasions but failed to identify the root cause.

Wanting a second opinion, the customer got in touch with us. After carrying out our own checks, we quickly identified the problem as a leaking main heat exchanger – a fault we see fairly regularly on these boilers.

We provided the customer with all the information needed to take back to their maintenance provider, but after considering the age of the boiler and ongoing monthly costs, they decided they no longer wanted to be tied into a maintenance contract and opted for a replacement instead.

🔧 Worcester Highflow Replacement 🔧

We were tasked with replacing this ageing Worcester Highflow after a number of faults were identified during a boiler service carried out by another company. The customer then got in touch through our website enquiry form looking for a quote for a replacement boiler.

At around 15–17 years old, this boiler had definitely seen better days. Multiple water leaks along with worn and leaking flue seals had finally run it into the ground.

We replaced it with the brand new Worcester Bosch 8000 floor standing combi boiler — a 35kW model specifically designed to replace the now obsolete Highflow boilers.

This was our first time installing the new model and, credit to Worcester Bosch, it’s been very well designed for replacement work. The boiler rolls in on wheels and lines back up neatly onto the original pipework connections 👌

This customer got in touch looking to replace an outdated electric heating setup, including storage heaters and an old copper hot water cylinder heated via immersion.

We carried out a full upgrade, removing the existing system and installing a modern, efficient gas central heating setup.

Installed:

✅ EPH wireless thermostat
✅ Plumbright system filter
✅ 5 x Stelrad Halcyon double panel radiators with TRVs (10 year warranty)

This one came with its challenges. Due to flooring restrictions, we couldn’t lift floors, so all radiator pipework was drop fed and installed in copper, using our trusted press-fit system from Conex Bänninger.

The end result is a fully efficient heating system with instant hot water on demand, giving the customer reliable heating throughout the property and a huge upgrade from the previous setup.
