Another boiler upgrade completed for a customer who recently moved into their new home 🔥

This one originally came to us for a routine boiler service after the customer had purchased the property.

During our inspection, it became clear that the existing Glow-worm Betacom had seen better days. Although the boiler was still operational and wasn't unsafe, its age and efficiency were becoming a concern.

After discussing the options, our customer decided it made more sense to invest in a modern, efficient boiler rather than continue relying on an ageing system.

A sensible decision, especially with winter approaching! 👍🏻

Replacing an ageing boiler before it breaks down can save a lot of inconvenience, particularly as we head into the colder months.

This customer has been with us since day one, trusting us to maintain their boiler over the years. After more than 20 years of service, they decided it was time for an upgrade before winter properly kicks in.

And what an upgrade it is! 👌

Out ➡️ 20+ year old, standard-efficiency Vaillant combi boiler.

In ➡️ Worcester Bosch 8000+ Style Black 32kW combi.

The original boiler had been installed at a ridiculous height 😂 so as part of the replacement, we lowered the new boiler to make future servicing and maintenance much safer and easier.

Our customer specifically wanted the black 8000+ to complement their existing decor and future plans for the room. A cracking choice, and it looks the part!

Full heating system overhaul in Dundee 🔧

This was much more than a boiler replacement.

Our customer wanted the heating system brought up to date, so we carried out a full heating system overhaul, including a new combi boiler, new radiators and alterations to the existing pipework.

It was a sizeable job, but the end result is a completely modernised heating system that’s more efficient, easier to control and much better suited to the property.

Another personal recommendation 🔧

Another job that came through a personal recommendation, which is always great to see.

This tired 10-year-old Ideal Logic had sprung an internal leak at the main heat exchanger and was losing pressure two or three times a day.

Rather than spending hundreds of pounds on a new heat exchanger just to get a few more years out of an already tired boiler, our customer made the sensible choice to replace it.

Another Worcester upgrade completed 🔥

This one was for a personal friend of the business and an ex-colleague. His Worcester 37CDi was still up and running, but it had definitely seen better days, so the decision was made to get ahead of it and replace it before it decided to pack in at the worst possible time.

Once we started stripping the old boiler down, it was pretty clear he'd made the right call 👀

The customer had a maintenance plan with Worcester Bosch, but their 25+ year old boiler had sprung a leak and unfortunately the part required to repair it was now obsolete.

🔥 Radiator Upgrade in Dundee 🔥

Another heating upgrade completed by Tayside Gas Services.

This customer wanted to modernise the heating system throughout the property, replacing ageing radiators and thermostatic valves that had been in place for many years.

We installed new Stelrad radiators throughout, along with new thermostatic radiator valves for improved control and a cleaner, more modern finish. The radiators also come with a 15-year manufacturer warranty. ✅

It wasn’t the most straightforward installation, with restricted access, older pipework and traditional walls to work around, but with a bit of careful planning we were able to get everything installed neatly without lifting or disturbing the customer’s hardwood flooring.

A good example of the difference a radiator upgrade can make to an older heating system — both practically and aesthetically.

On inspection, it was clear the existing Intergas combi boiler had been installed very poorly. While the installation was safe, there were multiple defects throughout the system, and the customer decided it was the right time to replace it with a boiler they could rely on for years to come.
