Designed for family life, made to make a statement….
Our most recent handcrafted kitchen project was all about scale and proportion. Set within an incredible converted building with soaring ceilings, exposed stone and beautiful beams, the cabinetry needed enough presence to belong in the space, while still feeling warm, inviting and practical for busy everyday family life.
At its heart is the one of the largest island we’ve ever made - stretching over four metres long. Handcrafted in oak with a bespoke dark stain that highlights the delicate grain, it provides an enormous amount of storage, preparation space and seating, making it a real hub for the family.
The star of the show has to be the beautiful 60mm quartz island worktops with double ogee profiled worktop, which gives the island the visual weight and detail it needed against the scale of the room.
The back run of cabinetry is hand painted in Little Greene ‘Etruria’, creating a gorgeous contrast with the stained oak, while fluted glass doors, integrated LED lighting and aged brass detailing add another layer of texture and character.
And, of course, practicality was just as important as the aesthetics. A Bora hob and Neff appliances were selected by our client, alongside a double Belfast sink and patinated brass Quooker tap, which were all incorporated into the design to make this a kitchen that works every bit as beautifully as it looks.
A truly bespoke kitchen designed around the architecture, the proportions of the space and, most importantly, the family who live here 🍃
