Unfortunately due to the ongoing fuel price rise I have been left with no alternative but to increase my rates. I hope you all understand this is something that I have being trying to avoid.

Few bits of info for you all

Firstly unfortunately long serving member of my team Keith Baynton has had to retire from gardening due to a knee injury that just doesn't want to go away, so with that im mind a new start has been employed in Bellamy Anderson to take on his role and help me also. Bellamy is young and enthusiastic as its eager to get going and with previous working in gardening I cant wait to get him started.

Grass cutting really starts next # # week so please look out for us.

Secondly there is a new HMRC rules coming out regarding sole traders in which they need to have a recognised software for tax purposes which I have had for 3 years now but also a rule is enforced where I need to submit tax info every quarter of the year and this may mean I will need to go VAT registered. If this does happen I may need to add the tax onto every invoice I produce ie if it was £20 before it will now be £20 plus the VAT. I will update everyone once I know for sure.

Thirdly as you are all aware fuel prices are sky rocketing at the minute but to the conflict in the middle east, this is going to have an impact on the business but with the VAT situation too i am going to hold off with any increases just now and will consider the options in a month or so.

So a wee thing happened recently! I bought a new van mainly because my auld faithful black vivaro has started to deteriorate and was time for a new and bigger van to cope with the business I have on the books each year.

Also tomorrow i will be doing something I've done for the last 3 years in helping a special charity in the name of Us2u who donate food hampers to families in need of them over the Christmas period. These consist of 5 meals for a family of 6 for 5 day including Christmas dinner.

It pains me to think there is families out there in our region that will go without a Christmas dinner on Christmas day. NO children in my opinion should go without presents or Christmas dinner on Christmas day and I know it cant be helped if the family cant afford it but I like to think I can help anyway I can so that a family wake up on Christmas day knowing they can have something.
