Building Resilience for Farmers 🚜💧
In Ross-on-Wye, earthworks are now complete on one of two new reservoirs, along with 700m of perimeter drainage and overflow pipework. The reservoir liner will be installed in the coming weeks, bringing the project one step closer to completion.
These investments will help improve water management, strengthen resilience during periods of dry weather, and support sustainable farming operations for years to come.

Making the most of the Heat

At Five Acres, a new 500m³ attenuation tank has now been installed using the ACO Stormbrix system.

Working alongside Catalogue Engineering, the team had all units installed in under a day, with the liner, protection fleece and inspection chambers completed shortly afterwards.

Progress is continuing at Five Acres, with some key milestones now coming into view.

Foundations are nearing completion, excavations for the attenuation tank are almost finished ahead of installation next week, and the concrete surround for the pump station has now been completed.

Projects like this are only possible through strong collaboration, and it's been fantastic to work alongside Willmott Dixon, the Forest of Dean District Council, and our wider project team. By bringing together design expertise, engineering knowledge and groundworks experience, we're helping create the foundations that allow every trade to play their part in delivering a successful project.

This morning, Luke Freeman (Group CEO) was guest speaker at the Herefordshire Conservative Business Forum’s monthly breakfast meeting.
Luke shared the story of the MF Freeman Group journey, from family roots and early contracting to the multi-division business we are today, and our long-term ambition to keep building in a way that adds value to the communities we serve.

The discussion also opened up an honest, practical Q&A about the barriers to delivering the right homes in the right places, including the pace of planning, infrastructure constraints, and the growing complexity of compliance. The focus was constructive; how industry, local stakeholders and decision makers can work together to unlock delivery while protecting what makes Herefordshire special.

A few themes Luke touched on:
- Long-term local commitment to building and stewarding places over decades, not short-term cycles.
- Responsible delivery and sustainability that is practical, measurable and embedded in day-to-day decision-making.
- Investing in people, training and capability to support future housing needs.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the conversation.

Today, on Earth Day, we’re proud to share a significant milestone for MF Freeman Group – our commitment to achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2045.

Working in partnership with The Planet Mark, we’ve developed a clear, independently verified Net Zero Transition Plan that sets out how we will reduce emissions across our business and supply chain, with a strong focus on genuine carbon reduction rather than reliance on offsets.

Our plan includes:
- Improving the energy performance of our homes
- Investing in renewables and low carbon technologies
- Working closely with suppliers to reduce wider environmental impact
- Measuring and reporting progress transparently

This commitment sits alongside our ongoing work in building high-quality, energy-efficient homes and supporting the communities where we operate.

As we celebrate 60 years of MF Freeman Group, our Net Zero 2045 pledge is about building responsibly today and protecting the future for generations to come.

🌍 A long-term commitment. A clear plan. Real action.
