It's great to see this unusual historic elm-framed barn reaching another milestone in its restoration.

Following the successful underpinning and rejointing of the entire building frame, work now continues to make this part of the existing 1980’s barn residence.

Elm was once a popular choice for timber-framed buildings thanks to its strength, durability and resistance to splitting but because of Dutch Elm disease in the 1970’s, it devastated the native Elm trees in the UK.

It's always a privilege to help preserve these remarkable structures and ensure they're retained for many more years to come.
