New job well underway in Parkstone.
We’re replacing a failed single-skin retaining wall with a new rendered wall for a much cleaner finish.

Next up: cutting a new opening for stunning black aluminium French doors, stripping off the old stone-faced cladding tiles, then batten, felt, cement board and fresh cladding going on.

The old decking is coming out too — we’re laying porcelain tiles on pedestals to give the porch area a proper glow up.

Another garden renovation completed, just in time to enjoy the rest of the summer ☀️

This garden was in need of some TLC after the old single-skin retaining wall had failed, with old slabs and several areas that had sunk over time. The whole space was ready for a much-needed upgrade.

The new retaining wall was built using 9-inch blockwork on the flat and faced with Kassandra brick, finished with a brick-on-edge detail and mitred corners.

The new patio is Indian sandstone, with the colours working really well alongside the brickwork. The edging has been finished with a green 6–12mm decorative chipping, adding a nice contrast and finishing touch. The steps up to the garden have been bullnosed for a smart smooth faultless finish

At the top of the garden, we installed a sleeper retaining wall to raise the levels and remove the existing slope, making much better use of the space.

A new gate was also installed to provide access down the side of the property, as requested by the customer.

Another garden transformed from tired and uneven to a much more practical and finished outdoor space.

I helped out a friend a while ago for a couple of days to get him started on his garden project. An accident at work left him unable to complete the project himself… A year later iBuild came back to finish what we started.

This job is now almost complete with just the coping stones and K-render to follow. At least the garden can now get some much needed use this summer.

The patio consists of Indian sandstone with steps up to the garden and down to the lower level. All steps were bullnosed off to give a stylish smooth finish.

The backs of the retaining wall were filled with gravel and pipe, this will allow rain water to channel to the far end into a gully.

We’ve just finished this big patio and retaining wall job in Dorchester. The job consists of a Dry split-face tiled retaining wall, topped with an Indian sandstone bullnose finish coping stone. The patio is 90m² of Nordic light grey 20mm porcelain, with grey grout joints. The borders are filled with a lovely 20-30mm Scottish pebble.

Big thanks to Switched On Electrical for the lighting install, it finishes it off perfectly.

I thought I better post the last few completed photos from this fantastic transformation. The customer was in need of the garden being sorted, for herself and her grandson to play in. I’m pleased to say we’ve exceeded her expectations. We talked to one another about the design and mixing up the retaining brick walls with sleeper sections as well. The result speaks for itself. We took over 60 tonne of waste from this job to make the areas bigger and split into two level areas. The steps from either side of the house are a much needed improvement to make it easier to get up and around. Have a look and share away please.
