Funny. September 2023 I first started this job, 3 years on today. Not much has changed but at the same time lots has changed too. That’s the beauty of the garden I suppose, life continues to go on

Finally able to start cutting back a lot of dead foliage now the rain has come
This bed was grass this time last year. Planted a load of perennials and annuals to fill in the gaps whilst things are still small. Got to move a few things around and mulch again but considering the year it’s had, I’m really pleased that everything has actually survived ☀️

Cleared the wildflower bed. Even wildflowers need management for diversity, otherwise you’ll end up with a single species thriving and taking over. Here it was toadflax.
Prepared now, ready for some seeding

Well I managed to get a black eye, hedge trimmed through an electric cable, disturbed a wasp nest and cut myself in a thousand places…but the chickens are happy now 😂 😮‍💨
Four tonne bags of brambles later, we’re ready for repair
