If you're an MCS installer, this is worth reading, five findings affect how you sell the job, not just whether you get it.
1. Homeowners don't know what MCS means.
77% hadn't heard of it before being surveyed. If you're relying on the badge to signal trust, it isn't landing. Explain it in plain terms during the quote, what it means for their protection, not just that you have it.
2. "Will it actually keep my house warm?" is the real objection, not price.
Homeowners described heat pumps as "a step into the unknown", most hesitation was about comfort and performance, not cost. Walk them through expected flow temps and room-by-room performance before install, not after a snag list.
3. Disruption fear is bigger than people admit.
Uncertainty about what happens during the install, timeline, mess, how long they're without heating, was a recurring blocker. A clear day-by-day plan upfront does more to close the deal than another spec sheet.
None of this is about better sales lines, it's about installs that don't create the "cowboy" stories homeowners are worried about in the first place. That starts with reliable kit and supply you're not firefighting mid-job. That's where we come in.
