Now that’s an impressive pipe!

Thames Water has released a picture of the broken pipe which caused a massive water outage across several boroughs on Monday morning including Elmbridge, Kingston and Merton.

The pipe in Walton Road is no longer flooding and repairs are now underway.

Latest statement from Thames Water:

We're continuing to make good progress repairing the burst water main in the Walton Road area.

Overnight, water supplies remained stable, and customers continued to receive water. Some customers may still notice lower pressure, but the impact has been limited. We continuing to monitor the network closely.

We're carrying out the final checks and planning needed to move forward with the repair safely. Because of the size and location of the damaged pipe, this remains a complex job, and we need to take extra care to ensure the repair is completed safely and effectively.

The replacement pipe sections remain on track to arrive on site, and we've kept additional resources in place to help maintain water supplies while we complete the repair.
