When someone comes to repair or install your boiler, don’t be afraid to ask for ID. A genuine gas engineer should always carry their Gas Safe ID card – and they should be happy to show it.

✔️ Check the photo matches the person
✔️ Check the expiry date
✔️ Look at the back of the card to see exactly what type of gas work they’re qualified to do

You can also double-check their registration online via the official Gas Safe Register. It only takes a minute and gives you peace of mind that the engineer or company is properly qualified for the job.
