It also talks about doing what was agreed, keeping to the timing discussed and delivering the result the customer expected. 📏
For made-to-order ironwork, that matters. Each project involves decisions around measurements, design, finish, fabrication and installation, so clear communication is part of the process from the beginning.

This area connects the back doors, steps and grass, so the railings needed to add safety and a clearer boundary without making the space feel heavy. 📏

The open vertical design keeps light moving through the French doors, while still giving the raised edge and steps more structure.

The height, spacing and position of the railings are important here because the area is quite narrow. Too much metalwork could make it feel closed in, but too little would not give the space the definition it needs.

The curved side detail softens the design and adds shape without overpowering the garden access. 🔩

This is where proportion matters. The finished metalwork has to support the way the space is used, while still sitting comfortably against the brickwork and garden setting.

Here, the vertical bars, spearheads and curved top give the entrance more presence, while still keeping the property visible from the street.

The character of the finished gate comes from several design choices working together: the height, the curve, the spacing between the bars, the darker finish against the brickwork and the way the gates sit across the driveway.

Scrollwork, leaves, grapes and decorative shapes need to be placed with the rest of the design in mind. 🔩

Its height, finish, handle position, privacy level and alignment with the surrounding fencing or brickwork all need to be considered.

When the side gate matches the main gate or other metalwork, the frontage feels more coordinated. When it is treated separately, the whole entrance can feel less balanced.

Workshop measurements matter, but the final result also has to work in the actual setting. 📏

During installation, the frame, infill, fittings and clearances all need to be checked against the real space. This is where earlier design choices become visible as one finished entrance.

Here, the lower infill adds privacy, while the open decorative section above keeps the gate from feeling too closed.

The balance between privacy, proportion and detail is what changes the character of the finished gate. 🔩

On this project, the lower section creates more privacy, while the decorative scrollwork above keeps the entrance lighter and more detailed.
