📣 Fire safety is a collective effort: check it, close it and speak up if something isn’t right.

This year for Fire Door Safety Week, we’ve compiled advice from government and leading industry bodies to share some simple visual checks that can be carried out by anyone with the necessary knowledge and appropriate instruction.

Regulation 10 sets out fire door and fire safety information requirements, including routine fire door checks in residential buildings over eleven metres. Regardless of height, in buildings containing two or more domestic premises and common parts, residents must also be given information on the importance of fire doors and fire safety.

These checks are intended to identify common warning signs, but they do not replace an inspection by a competent person or the manufacturer’s installation and maintenance instructions.

Notice a fault with a fire door? Always report your concerns to the property manager or Responsible Person.
