“Side by Side” - A very special commission and one I’m delighted to be able to finally share 🤍

Originally commissioned to capture the sailing scene that Belfast Lough offers, this painting evolved into a much deeper story of family, love and connection.

More than just two boats on the water, the pink and blue sails represent the client’s two children, sailing together. With their sail numbers reflecting their individual dates of birth, making this piece entirely personal and unique to their family.

‘Side by Side’ celebrates adventure, family and the special bond between siblings. As they grow, so too will their adventures, with each new chapter bringing more memories to make, experiences to share and moments to treasure together.

This painting was handmade from start to finish, from constructing and priming the canvas, to sanding, sketching and finally bringing the finished artwork to life.

A little piece of their story, captured in paint and made to last a lifetime 🩷💙

Thank you Jonny and Emma, for allowing me to create something so personal and meaningful for your family. This one will always hold a special place for me 💖

What a day! 💖 John Minnis, Royal Ulster Yacht Club 160th Anniversary Regatta 2026

My heart is so full, this was such a special event to commission a celebratory anniversary piece which now is displayed in full colour at RUYC 🤩

The limited edition signed prize prints have found their new homes. A lasting reminder of good times on the water, banter and a great event.

A HUGE thank you to Royal Ulster Yacht Club and Rory for investing in me and letting me create something truly special for your 160th Anniversary Regatta.

Thank you also to lovely event sponsor John Minnis Estate Agents for championing the event and for the kind words towards my artwork.

Finally finally finally… thank you to everyone who purchased an original from the anniversary collection and as well as those who saw something special in my work and were kind enough to tell me what it meant to them❤️ (I’m calling it a win that I made it through the day without happy crying)

Seeing these pieces find their forever homes is just the best feeling in the world and I can’t emphasise this enough 🫶

Huge hugs, bigger kisses, sending all my love 💖

Thank you Kate
