Kit Cabin by Woodlanders!

Hopefully all the info makes sense in the attached (apologies for the poster thing, I needed the help 🥴).

Anyway there will be some terms and conditions coming relating to all sorts including land prep before hand, delivery to awkward places and access etc.

Looking at rolling this out in Feb 2027 so please spread the word and get in touch if you’d like anymore information.

Thanks again for all your thoughts and insights up to this point.

This is what a cabin kit would get you pretty much…

Just working out sizes and prices but basically this can be all done in two days on site.

Everything from here is pretty straight forward and the guide will show every step including a full cutting list for timber needed.

Hope that helps!

Another busy busy day…will get this wrapped and waterproof tomorrow and then move on to cladding!

Right then, a quick question for you all if I may!

I’m toying with the idea of a “kit cabin”. Basically a roundwood A Frame cabin in kit form to the stage shown in the photos.

This would give you a cabin skeleton that you can then complete yourself. A happy medium of self build without the complicated bit.

I would do all the framing and all the stud would be pre cut. I would then deliver and spend two days getting it to this stage with you. You will also be provided with a guide for all the next steps and have me as a consultant.

Would this be something folk might be interested in??

It feels this is the “complicated bit” therefore providing it to this stage will hopefully give you the confidence to crack on. It will also save you money!!

Let me know your thoughts, looking at rolling this out in 2027 potentially.

Big old day today!

Frame raised, core stud all in. Amazing to think this time last week I was in the woods cutting these trees down.

All set to complete the stud skeleton next week and get it all wrapped and watertight.

Full steam ahead!!

It’s a beautiful location for a building like this. Situated on an old farm, the aim is to create something that feels like it’s been there forever.

Huge thanks to Mondo’s Maintenance the Swiss Army knife for helping out these past couple of days. Especially digging out the foundation holes (plus the extra ones 😉).

B**r needed now…

Back on the butterpat joints today…and a rather lovely tight set they are too!

I never grow tired of the excitement of rolling the tie beam into place and seeing how the 4 joints fit…these are all a dry fit so they’ll be pulled together with ratchet straps and then pegged with a seasoned oak peg to make them even tighter!

I might be getting good at this 😂😂

Stupid internet lied to me again…

Oh look a bunch of stuff I did and not an A-Frame in sight…See, it does happen occasionally! 😉

A big old day back in welsh Wales knocking over sticks for the next cabin build…this is genuinely how all this nonsense starts…tree, log, cabin!

A huuuuuge thank you to Tim (and Bella) for helping me out today, it was a lot of work for one old man…

Peeling and framing next week, then foundations and raising the frame on Friday is the plan…😬😬
