A little update from us.

We are flying around behind the scenes here, car keys daily, with now stock varying from aftermarket to genuine, we are confident that we can cover a huge amount of the vehicle database. That alongside our strict 12 month guarantee policy, you can have a complete peace of mind that we are prepared!.

🔔 We have recently announced our domestic expansion.

From gaining entry, lock changes, handles, even to full mechanisms and more. We are also covering a fair amount of the market stock, ready for you!.

📢 We are toying with plenty other ideas of how to improve our business, from stock to euqipment. We have a few other ideas currently but we are keeping these quiet until they have been confirmed!! 👀🤫

Well... Where do we even begin.
⚠️Learning curve⚠️

This vehicle was determined to prevent any positive results straight from the start.

Starting off as a general all keys lost situation which could have simply been on a CAS4 immo turns out it wasn't. It was the dreaded CAS3++

Now most would of gone via the easy and cowboy route, downgraded the system and most likely bricked the module. 🔒
- Not us, we clearly like the long and most difficult way 🙄.

Removing the modules were the easiest bit, buried deep in to the abyss of this vehicle, quickly became a bigger task than expected.

Unfortunately for us - the hardest bit was to refit the dash, the dash is fitted in the factory prior to the window going in!
Unfortunately in this situation due to a cracked window, it was a window out job.

Word of warning for anyone, anyone doing one of these... You best know what you are getting in to, as for us... A valuable learning curve.

This is only a small percentage of what needed to be done to create a key.

Get yourself a spare!!

After all the carnage, and thanks to some very knowledgeable chaps for some advice, the car is back together up and running!

Now to catch up with the million other jobs.
Caithness here we come!

Not even 11am on a Sunday.

All keys lost on a Bmw - Done ✔️

By extracting data from the required modules on bench mode - we minimise the risk of corruption.

This ensures safe handling of the crucial vehicle data that lies within these modules.

⚠️ Improper handling could be catastrophic.
Resulting in a non starting vehicle with a un programmed key.

Or worse, corruption which makes the vehicle unable to communicate between necessary modules and without the proper equipment and knowledge it simply can't be restored back to the original functions ⚠️

🔔📢 A new piece of equipment - if you are in this or a collaborating industry, then you will know just what a piece of equipment this is!!. If you know about these then you know!

- A critical battery support unit ( GYS ) - one of the leading types on the current market for maintaining essential voltages, preventing everything from corruption to voltage spiking.

⚠️ Ask your technician - will they use a battery pack?,. Jump pack or battery support unit ?

- especially with these newer modern vehicles pulling demand up to 105AMPS on average. A simple battery pack is essentially useless.

Incase your worried about this happening to you, there's a few things you could do for peace of mind.

⚠️ Ask the locksmith are they in possession of any formal identification? - professionals will carry identification, and make it readily available.

⚠️ Ask some friends or family, word of mouth works best, it's a big industry in 2026 where people pay for Google reviews, don't simply rely on that!.

⚠️ - Does the key look the same as your original? - ask the locksmith prior to the job if it's the same. Often people use cheaper generic universal style keys to avoid the cost of a aftermarket option.

⚠️ Ask where they trained?, you can always verify with the training company if in doubt.

⚠️ Are they in a uniform?, is the van sign written?, although some people never sign write their van and are perfectly legitimate.. all these little clues can point you in the direction of a legitimate Locksmith.

2026 - and the world is heading for a particular direction, cheaper and faster...

It's unfortunate but these days we are heading of customers being ripped off, supplied with faulty goods and worse ending up with non starting vehicles.

WARNING ⚠️⚠️⚠️

Hectic couple of days -we should never complain!!

- Grabbed some attention down Thurso highstreet doing lock changes for failed units.

Cylinder changes left right and centre.

⚠️ - Seems someone has been doing local work here in the past. Won't mention names but I would state they are more suited to a butcher rather than a locksmith. Removing top and bottom Geabroxes due to the hooks not latching with the units being fitted incorrectly, that alongside rounding screws, incorrect cylinders.

⚠️ - Always take your time to double check who your dealing with, ask around prior to hiring, check the persons/companies page, ask for proof of identification. We understand times can be hard for people.. But doing jobs your not qualified for only causes more problems than solves.

On another note, a combination of works done in Caithness, ignition barrels, spare keys, gaining entries.

Morning everyone.

Another mental day here, we finally managed to fit our first BBQ of the year in 🙄.

On another note, we are jumping from pillar to post. Today we are heading for Caithness, here's a show of the jobs over the last few days.

Collapsed gearbox at a air bnb.
- Not funny in anyway shape or form - an absolute pain in the hoop.
- New cylinder for security reasons alongside the new gearbox.

All keys lost on a Bmw 3 Series.
- Pulling the BDC out alongside DME.
- Had significant difficulty retrieving the ISN this time but we managed!!.
- Started up for the first time in 4 years! 💪

All keys lost on a Mini Cooper!.

- Gain entry, pick lock with decode to follow.
- Pull out our old school laptop and equipment to EEPROM the MCU in IMMO.
- Data retrieved - new key made!.

To follow!!
- 2019 3 series that's been of the road for several years.
- diagnosed to be a faulty BDC due to a spike from a jumpstart!.
- New BDC ordered - Awaiting the arrival if our new BSU!! 😍
