🚧📢 GOODBYE POST 📢🚧
After 25 years, the time has finally come ………… we are officially closing the family business 💔
Reasons include (but not limited to) ….
• Mark never being able to say no to squeezing in “just one more job”
• Some of our fleet having more emotional issues than us
• Arguing whose turn it is to make the ☕ for a quarter of a century
• The job just keeps getting harder and harder
From our beginnings as a pump hire company to becoming a trusted concrete supplier across the area, we have been incredibly proud to serve the local community whether it be a DIY shed base or large infrastructure project.
We started with one truck and somehow that turned into decades of early mornings, late pours, ruined rigger boots and enough inside jokes to fill a mixer 🤣
We have pumped and supplied concrete in, over, around, under and through many different projects over the years, and it has been a wild ride full of highs and lows.
Runing a family business means working together, laughing together, shouting at each other and then working together again the next morning like nothing happened. We may be closing the business, but the family arguments will continue along with the cries of “I pumped the concrete on that” as we travel around the area.
We will miss the banter with everyone else crazy enough to be in this game but at least we can relax that our jobs are safe from being replaced by AI any time soon.
Most importantly, to all our staff past and present, loyal customers, suppliers and the bloke who still owes us £57 from 2007 – thank you for keeping us going this long 🙏
But “where will I get my concrete from” I hear you cry, fear not as the plant is being taken over by the guys at Oxfordshire Concrete Ltd. A few members of staff, including Mark (not quite old enough to ditch the hi viz or hang up the rigger boots yet) are moving across taking up new roles with them so please get in touch on 01865 655662 or email [email protected]
From our family to yours — thank you for supporting “one of the little guys” over the years.
Stay solid everyone ………. now where’s that beer 🍻
