Hotter conditions can affect how temporary works and structures behave, making monitoring an increasingly important part of keeping projects safe and on track.

In our latest blog, Elliott Griffin and Dave Bradshaw explore some of the challenges rising temperatures can create for groundworks projects, from thermal expansion and changing loads to the role of real-time monitoring in helping teams make informed decisions.

Not all bridge restoration projects are straightforward... especially when the bridge is nearly 200 years old!

As part of the restoration of the iconic Marlow Bridge, our team helped support works to replace ageing bearings on the Grade I listed structure.

Alongside the propping and jacking solution, our monitoring specialists installed sensors across the bridge to keep a close eye on movement, vibration and loading throughout the works. This helped engineers understand exactly how the bridge was behaving and ensured the project could be carried out safely.

A fascinating project to be involved in and a great example of different teams coming together to deliver a complete solution.

✅ Stand's ready. Models are loaded. Water bottles are chilled.

We're excited to be at George Leslie's event today, showcasing how digital engineering is helping teams make more informed project decisions before work even begins.

Visit our stand to:
🔹Explore our new EVE Energy environment, including controller capability
🔹Get hands-on with interactive digital engineering models and project visualisations
🔹Check out 3D printed versions of our equipment
🔹Speak to our team about how digital engineering can support safer, more efficient project delivery

We're also proud to be sponsoring the water stations throughout the event, so be sure to grab a complimentary water bottle while you're making your way around the exhibition.

If you're attending today, come and say hello. We'd love to show you what we've been working on.

Real-time monitoring is about more than collecting data. It's about giving project teams the information they need to make confident decisions when it matters most.

That's where Insite adds real value. Wireless monitoring data is delivered straight to a secure web portal, giving teams live visibility of site conditions as they develop.

With instant alerts when thresholds are exceeded and automated reporting available on demand, Insite helps teams stay ahead of issues rather than reacting to them, supporting safer, more informed decision-making throughout a project.

As UK summers continue to break temperature records, what could this mean for groundworks projects?

With hotter weather becoming more common, it's important to understand how changing temperatures can influence temporary works on site.

In our latest blog, Elliott Griffin, Senior Design Engineer, and Dave Bradshaw, Monitoring Manager, take a closer look at the impact of thermal expansion on propping systems, the role of monitoring technology, and how real-time data can help teams manage risk and respond proactively to changing conditions.

From intelligent monitoring solutions to hydraulic systems, the article explores practical approaches to helping projects remain safe and efficient as weather patterns continue to evolve.

Sometimes the most complex engineering challenges involve the smallest movements.

For the restoration of the historic Marlow Bridge, we provided a bespoke propping, jacking and monitoring solution to safely lower the bridge deck by just 2mm so critical bearing replacement works could take place.

Working on a Grade I listed structure while maintaining traffic flow across this iconic Thames crossing made for a fascinating project for our teams.

Not every CPD session needs to follow the same structure.

We shape sessions around the project, the stage you’re at, and the challenges your team wants to explore, whether that’s temporary works awareness, excavation support, façade retention, digital delivery or project-specific case studies.

If there’s a particular scheme or topic in mind, we can build the session around it.
