Some finished pictures of the stool I recently reupholstered with at .upholstery.classes a course I would highly recommend if you have a desire to develop your skill and understanding.
This piano stool has a lovely little family story, which made it incredibly satisfying to finally finish. No I am not putting any cover on it. This will sit in my workshop as a little functional display piece.

A little story: this stool came from my great-aunt Nelly (love her name ❤️) whom I used to visit as a kid and have very fond memories of. She was born on the 8-08-1888 and died at the age of 88 on the 7-07-1977 .
She used to ride a motorcycle in her youth, certainly not something a young lady would have done in those times.
So finishing this stool has a really special place in my heart.
I'm sure my aunt Nelly would approve 🙂

Getting Creative at Creative Upholstery
Last Friday, I had two beautiful days of learning and improvement, fine tuning and simply getting better at what I do, namely upholstery.
So, I drove to .classes.dorset
To spend time with an utterly brilliant team of like-minded upholsterers.
Led by the true legend that is the one and only Mr Gareth Rees () in the beautiful surroundings of Cowgrove and again beautiful (I don't think you can over use this word in this context) workspace of Cecily Benson who organised this vey special two days.
When you are in a space with folk who genuinely love what they do and are eager to learn, there is an incredibly positive vibe.
I like many work on my own, and being in that space with others for a few days felt so very special.
I learnt so much, especially some of the things that I knew were big weaknesses, which is kind of the whole point.
So, you never stop learning you never stop making friends and hopefully have a ball along the way.

LAST NIGHT BRISTOL UPHOLSTERY P**S UP
Such a fantastic evening was had by all last night.
I met many old friends (some very old Gawain 😉 lol) and new friends alike.
The love for our craft was so present last night. It is amazing how people can bond over a few beers and a common love of upholstery.
As someone said last night with all the crap in the world right now, it's great to feel so much passion and love ❤️
Honestly, I wasn't sure how it would go and was super pleased when the best part of 30 people showed up and a massive thank you 🙏
I would especially like to thank Leigh Ann Tredwell (Two Tokes Tredwell as she's now known 🤣) for all her amazing help and support. Love ya huns xx
So why not put the date in the diary for the next (upholsterers unbuttoned)? Bristol meet up on the 6th of June.
Now affectionately known as "Upholsterers unbuttoned " so as not to get confused with mick .s.upholstery p**s up on the 21st February.
So pull out your party frock (I know I will be🫣) and enjoy this summers unbuttoned meet-up of like-minded stuffers and stitchers.
