Big openings need serious support
A closer look at some of the structural steelwork going into this project, different steel sections, each doing a specific job to support the structure around this large feature apex window.
The finished result will look clean and simple, but there’s plenty happening behind the scenes to make an opening like this possible.
This is the part of a project most people never really see, taking the architectural idea and working through the structure required to actually build it.
And once the glazing goes in… this one should be some feature.

With the amount of projects that have come my way this passed few months, I am having to close the books in two weeks. Simply to give the attention required to on going projects. This means I have 2 openings for projects before October.

Project progression underway.

The contractors are carefully dismantling the existing roof before the new extension and structural alterations begin. It's one of those stages most people never see, but getting it right is critical to everything that follows.

There's a piece of Derry's history that thousands of people drive past every week without giving it a second thought.

The Creggan Rath has stood here for well over 1,000 years, long before the city walls, modern roads, or the houses that now surround it. It was once a fortified homestead where local families lived, worked and protected themselves.

It's incredible to think that while our city continues to grow around it, this small reminder of our past is still quietly sitting there.

Derry has so many places like this that deserve a second look. Sometimes we don't need to travel far to appreciate a bit of history.

Not every feature has to be expensive to make a huge difference.

A stacked utility is one of my favourite ways to maximise space in an extension. By stacking the washing machine and tumble dryer, you free up valuable floor space for extra storage, a larger worktop, or simply a cleaner, more practical utility room.

It's one of those details that homeowners often don't think about until the design stage—but once it's in, they wonder how they ever managed without it.
