Lovely to get all the new pieces up & displayed.

Quick sneak peak at the 288 module/4 map Lake District piece.

It does look very different when you view it vertically, to just laying flat. Just need a big enough wall!

The ultraclear glass does make such a difference, and whilst an expensive option, well…. you can see how clear the details are.

So some better images in ‘the vertical’ before we hang the piece today on our stand at Chester.

Don’t have favourites & I did give him the stern look for sneaking in some oak into a recent delivery.

But yes, you can tell the difference & it’s heavier!

1890’s Romeo & Juliet with estate stamped/signed title page & cast list in waxed oak.

Substantial piece 760mm x 420mm, but definitely a classy piece!

Just need to find a big enough wall to photograph properly 😅😊🤭

At a whopping 1.3m by 0.8m, this is probably the largest size we’ll go to.

But hey less than 2 years ago the idea of us doing our own framing seemed bonkers (my word of the month!)

A real technical piece all round and our first to incorporate UltraVue UV 92 glass an anti reflective premium glass.

We wanted to bring a statement piece with us this weekend for Chester and think this probably fits the bill. 🤞🤞

This week sees us back with Cooper Events at Chester Racecourse.

Decorative, Antiques, Vintage and Shows are a new event type for us, after a decade of attending Craft & Artisan events.

We’re such a hybrid cross-over business it does make sense, but we’re not a classic art or antique fit.

…but then I’m reminded that it’s covers such a massive genre.

Last month in Buxton I came across this amazing piece.

Not the largest or showiest and displayed in a discrete way as to just draw you into the stand. (Very clever display and taken lots on notes)

By Utagawa Kuniteru I, c 1847-52. A woodblock print with such lovely weathered edges and depth of colour.

I could have quite happily stood for hours and just looked at it. (I did try)

At first glance it just reminded me of modern Manga comics and the highly stylistic sea monsters.

But then I noticed more and more details and subtleties. Obvs much googling and research followed - you’d expect nothing less, still hooked on the artwork😍

So I’m looking forward to seeing which things just ‘grab’ me this weekend and realising we might not be such a bad fit after all 😊

For all those people who thought he was beyond a Management System!

He now has his own version!

Started off as scribbled squares of paper, then notes on an iPad but it’s migrated into something bigger.

Emerging from the embers of that eternal request ‘can you make another one like that pls’

So every frame produced has a recipe card of sorts, shifted around in folder.

Today’s entry was mildly amusing since ‘someone’ got the measurement wrong 🤭🤭

He’d still give an auditor nightmares 🤣🤣🤣

This is a rather handsome piece.

It’s taken a few months to turn this 1961 OS Tourist map of Ben Nevis & Glen Coe into a finished piece.

Not because it was a difficult project, more that it’s had to wait it turn whilst other pieces jumped the queue.

So it’s very worthy of getting special frame, and he’s done just that and more.

Starting from a plain wood moulding, he’s added texture and depth through paint layers & intrigue with a bit of sparkle & metallic accents.

All very subtle and working in harmony with the piece.

It’s been a rollercoaster of an event season for us especially with lots of new event types and taking the mad business on the road.

So it may seem surprising that as other businesses are frantically upping a gear and hitting the festive season hard, we’re not!

Lots of reasons which you’ll hopefully understand.

🎄Nothing to do with particular markets, although it’s a congested calendar this year.
🎄Outdoor events are always a gamble this time of year
🎄Stock generation vs order book vs leadtime
🎄increased commissions
🎄and we’re still out and about, just not here there and everywhere

We’re also immensely grateful for our customer base.

The ones that patiently wait for their pieces, who give us the most amazing projects and who keep challenging us to create even more wonderful things. Thank-you
