Paying extra for a permeable driveway doesn't guarantee it'll drain properly 👀

The tarmac lets water through, but if the stone underneath isn't right, that water has nowhere to go. You end up with puddles despite paying for a permeable surface.

The problem is, the top can look perfect, so it's easy to blame the weather rather than what's underneath.

At ACG, we get the groundwork right first. That means using the correct clean stone, compacting it in layers and working out where the water will drain before the tarmac goes down.

It might cost a bit more to do it properly, but there's no point paying for a permeable driveway if it doesn't actually work.

Five months from start to finish, and we got everything wrapped up before summer ☀

This project in Goring-by-Sea was a big one for us at ACG, with a huge rear extension, a new garage and structural work throughout, alongside all the extra jobs that came together as the project progressed.

We also took care of the driveway, landscaping and fencing, so everything was finished off as one complete project rather than leaving the outside for another time.

We started in November and worked straight through the winter, bringing all the different trades together to get everything done.

Kenny and Julia chose us after seeing the time we put into understanding exactly what they wanted before the work even started. Getting those details right from the beginning makes a real difference to how a project runs.

It's a great example of what we can deliver when we bring all those different skills together under one team.

Good progress at our Tarring project 👌

The side extension roof is coming on nicely today, with everything moving forward ready for the steels arriving on Friday.

Scaffolding also went up today, ready for the roof tilers to get started and keep the job pushing ahead.

A smart finishing touch at our Findon Valley project 👌

The new front door and sidelights have now been installed, completely transforming the entrance and giving the front of the property a much cleaner, more modern look.

More progress at our Tarring project 👌

The demolition has now been carried out ready for the new steel goalpost installation.

We’ve also removed and rebuilt the existing pier so it matches perfectly with the new brickwork on the extension, keeping the finish clean and consistent throughout.

Another important stage completed and everything is now set for the structural steelwork to go in.

Great progress on our Tarring project 👌

Last week we got the extension built up and ready for the new roof, and this week we’ve moved on to the demolition and internal alterations ready for the steel installation.

Another big stage reached and everything is now prepared for the structural steelwork to go in.

Plenty more to come as this one starts to really take shape.

Another driveway completed in Goring last week 👌

This one was finished with a block-paved edge, shingle infill and a resin-bound path detail running around the garage and up towards the front door.

Everything was looking spot on… until Amazon decided the barrier tape was apparently more of a suggestion than a barrier 😂

Special thanks to the delivery driver who climbed underneath it and walked straight across the fresh resin. Brilliant timing 👏📦

Thankfully, we got it sorted and the finished driveway looks great.

Great progress at our Offington project 👌

We’ve carried out the structural alterations, window alterations and fitted the customer-designed kitchen, bringing everything together exactly as planned.

The stone worktops were installed this week and we think they look fantastic. A really smart finish to a kitchen that’s now starting to come together beautifully.

This project has been carried out with precision from start to finish for brilliant customers, and we’re really pleased with how it’s looking.

Big week of progress on our Broadwater project 💪

The gables are now built, the main knock-through has been carried out and the steel goalpost is installed, with all connections welded and completed.

We’ve also insulated and screeded the extension floor, with the final structural alterations now all wrapped up.

A lot achieved in one week and the project is really starting to come together.

Great progress on our Ferring project 👌

The roof is now fully built and finished, the electrics are first fixed, and the plasterboarding is well underway.

Everything is really starting to take shape now, with the internal spaces coming together nicely. Another big step forward on this extension and we’re well on the way to the finishing stages.
