I’ve been a busy boy, renovating our old patio table and chairs, and also our lovely Lutyens bench. They hadn’t been done for a few years, so we’re long overdue.

Rather than oil, I finished the wood with Golden Care ‘honey brown’ teak protector which is supposedly better for the wood than oil and should last the season.
Time will tell.
I’m very pleased with the results though.

I’ve not posted for a while.. it’s that time of year when things are exceptionally busy and weeds are growing faster than I can pull them up, but I thought I would share an update on this garden I’ve been working on over time.

The garden was incredibly overgrown and neglected when I first visited, but obviously, once loved.

I think it’s coming along quite nicely now and will soon be back to its former glory.

I’m just removing a Buxus hedge (box hedge)that succumbed to the dreaded box moth caterpillar last year and noticed that there are still lots of young, active caterpillars.

If you have Buxus plants in your garden, take whatever precautions you see fit.
Last years infestation seemed particularly brutal.

Really pleased with how this garden is developing. The fruit crop after careful pruning last year has been incredible.

Bulb planting time!

One of the tasks where you need the vision and knowledge of how the flowers will look in the spring as opposed to planting pot grown plants, where you get that instant effect.

These are a mixed variety of daffodils, that will provide a welcome burst of colour in the spring

Mandy’s been busy too.. this area was thick with bramble intertwined amongst the planting.. there was only one thing for it.. strip it back, dig out the brambles and allow the shrubs to rejuvenate.
