Had a meeting with Basil at Mrs C's Tea Cosy today. He wanted to know if I needed help with my double sausage cob and we focused on if any of my customers needed their flower beds BARKING (see what I did there 🤣).

Due to high levels of wet with associated noise and electrical discharges in the local environment I am unable to service my planned customers gardens today. Sorry for any inconvenience caused but your lawns and flowers are enjoying their best lives today! Suck it up flowers suck it up!

If anyone fancies moving into Littleover village this wonderful corner plot has become available. Gardening a bit out of area today up at Farnah Green. It was a long visit to tidy the garden of a regular returning customer.
Had to deal with weeds, tidy plants suffering from heat stroke etc before finally the main event which was pruning three espalier apple trees.
Apples trained as espaliers make a great fruiting hedge with blossom in spring and then a crop of fruit in late summer. These trees are quite old and had gone totally out of control until I started the process a few years ago of bringing them back into line.
Summer pruning restricts growth, aids air flow and exposes the fruit to aid ripening.
The pictures show before and after and show that in some cases I was removing 2-3ft of growth as really the trees just want to revert to being large fruit trees. Nice view over Belper as well !
Later it was 2 hours in Littleover at a regular tidying up more drought impacted plants!

Always a danger going to Lidl ! I couldn't turn down this hardy Pennisetum Hameln for £6.99 today! It was a right pot full! not all Pennisetum are fully hardy but in general this is a good one. No idea where to plant it as my garden is full lol.

I know it's raining but if anyone needs any free water it's available outside my house! Seven Trent say it might be 3 working days to fill the hole which is half full so plenty of time lol. If only they put the soil to the side of the hole they could have reopened the road but hey I dont run the water company!

A small planting job at one of my regular Shelton Lock gardens yesterday in a bed my customer created in front of a renovated patio area.
Planting was purple pot Chrysanthemums, Viola Beaconsfield and Viola Coconut Swirl.
