Cowls help prevent water ingress and birds entering your chimney. Sometimes these issues are not visible from ground level so an inspection from a local sweep may help.

🐦 Preventing unwanted visitors in your chimney 🔥

Unfortunately, another bird was recently found trapped inside a chimney breast after gaining access through an open chimney pot, 2 cowls have now been fitted to prevent this happening again.

Situations like this can be distressing and can often be prevented with the correct bird guard or cowl fitted to your chimney.

A suitable cowl not only helps prevent birds and debris entering your chimney, but also reduces the risk of blockages that can affect the safe operation of your appliance.

At The Chimney & Stove Company, we offer professional cowl fitting, chimney sweeping and inspections to help keep your chimney system safe and protected.

Another open chimney safely swept today! 🧹

I was called out to sweep an open chimney and found this poor dead bird trapped inside.

Without a cowl, birds can easily fly or fall into your chimney. This can lead to blocked flues, dangerous smoke blowback, and unpleasant smells.

Fitting a proper bird-guard cowl is the best way to keep wildlife out and your chimney safe.
