We can complete many tasks from plastering and re-pointing there is no job too small for us. We are a family run business with over 50 years combined experience within the industry. With the weather starting to change, now is a really good time to have a look around your home and see if there’s anything that needs sorting before winter arrives.

Maybe you’ve noticed cracked or tired brick pointing, a gutter that’s started leaking, or water running down the wall where it shouldn’t be. These might seem like small issues, but left through a wet winter they can lead to penetrating damp and much bigger problems.

Freshly plastered walls shouldn’t just be tiled as soon as they look dry! 👀

Generally, you should allow around 7 days for fresh plaster to dry before tiling, but this can be longer depending on the thickness of the plaster, temperature, humidity and ventilation.

🔹 Moisture needs time to escape
🔹 Tiling too soon can affect adhesion
🔹 The plaster needs to be properly dry, not just dry on the surface
🔹 The wall may need the correct primer/sealer before tiling
🔹 Different plaster products can have different requirements

And remember — drying time isn’t the same as simply looking dry!

Rush the preparation and you could end up with loose tiles, cracked grout or problems further down the line.

A good tiling job starts before the first tile goes on the wall. 👌

A bathroom renovation isn’t just about fitting a new suite—it’s everything you don’t see behind the walls that makes the difference.

This bathroom in Alvaston started with a full strip-out, and from there we completed the entire job ourselves. No chasing different trades, no waiting around for the next person to turn up.

We carried out:
• Complete removal of the old bathroom
• New plumbing and alterations to the water and radiator pipework
• Plastering
• Wall tiling
• Installation of the new bathroom suite
• All the finishing touches to leave it ready to use

We take pride in doing the whole job from start to finish because it means we can keep the quality high and the project running smoothly.

This was the second half of the renovation and included:✔️ Plastering the ceiling✔️ Fitting new bathroom furniture & worktop✔️ Installing a recessed basin with brushed brass tap✔️ Tiling the splashback✔️ Fitting a new back to wall toilet pan

All ready for the new Lino floor to be fitted

We carried out all the work ourselves, meaning there was no need for lots of different tradesmen on the job.

A clean, modern finish that has completely transformed the space 👌
