The Warriors welcomed Carron Huskies Community Football Club to Falkirk Stadium last Sunday in the AWPL as we looked to continue our positive start to the season.

Denny started well with much of the early possession and found themselves ahead in the opening 15 minutes when Stuart Martin’s through ball found skipper Gary Lyon through on goal and he fired the ball into the net on the half volley. Denny were 2 up shortly after when Aiden Lumsden turned the defender on the edge of the area before curling a great effort into the top corner. Denny took the foot off the gas and Huskies capitalised to enjoy a good spell of possession of their own which saw them find the net themselves when their striker picked up a loose pass back in the Denny midfield before slotting the ball into the bottom corner making it 2-1 at the interval.

Denny started the second half strong and regained their 2 goal advantage when Aiden launched the ball into the back post from a corner and it was met by the head of Gary Lyon for his second and Denny’s 3rd. The Warriors would then add a 4th when the goal scoring skipper turned provider as he played his brother Chris Lyon through on goal the frontman lofted the ball over the sliding keeper with a delicate chip to find the back of the net. The same partnership would be responsible for Denny’s 5th when Gary released Chris on the left hand side and the striker cut inside the box and neatly tucked the ball in at the front post. There was time for one more for Denny when Chris swung a cross into the front post from the left wing and the ball was fumbled into the back of the net by the Huskies defender to make it 6-1 before the final whistle.
