We're on the lookout for an Engineering Apprentice

Location: Delph, Oldham
Job Type: Full-time Apprenticeship

We’re looking for a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic Engineering Apprentice to join our team based in Delph, Oldham.

This is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone who wants to build a career in engineering and learn a broad range of workshop and site-based skills.

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and fabricators, gaining experience in pipework fabrication, welding, workshop operations and engineering installation work.

The Role

Your day-to-day duties will include:
Assisting with the fabrication and welding of pipework
Cutting, preparing and assembling pipe and steelwork
Supporting experienced engineers and welders with ongoing projects
General workshop duties
Cleaning and maintaining workshop areas
Keeping tools, equipment and materials organised
Assisting with loading, unloading and movement of equipment
Helping with basic plant and equipment maintenance
Preparing materials and equipment for site work
Occasional site visits and engineering work across the UK
Following health and safety procedures at all times
Attending college and completing the required apprenticeship training

You should be:
Reliable and punctual
Hardworking and willing to get stuck in
Genuinely interested in engineering and learning a trade
Happy to carry out cleaning and general workshop duties as part of the role
Willing to travel and occasionally work away from home

Engineering Apprentice – Energy & Power Generation Systems
📍 Nationwide (UK) | Travel Required | Compressed Work Week

Are you looking to start a career in engineering while earning, learning, and gaining real-world experience on energy and power generation systems across the UK?

We are looking for motivated Engineering Apprentices to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role where you will work alongside experienced engineers installing, servicing, and maintaining energy infrastructure.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, problem solving, and working in different locations across the country.

About the Role

As an Engineering Apprentice, you will be trained to work on energy and power generation systems in a variety of environments including industrial sites, hotels, leisure centres and more. Installing pipework, containment systems and cabling.

You will specialise in either Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, while also gaining valuable cross-discipline knowledge to become a well-rounded engineer.

You will typically work away from home Monday–Thursday, with most weekends free.

What You'll Learn

During your apprenticeship you will develop skills in:
Installation of pipework, containment systems and cabling.
Mechanical and electrical fault finding
Reading technical drawings and schematics
Working safely within industrial environments
Use of specialist engineering tools and equipment
Teamwork on large-scale engineering projects

You will gain experience across multiple engineering disciplines, helping you build a strong foundation for a long-term career in the energy sector.

Working Pattern

We operate a compressed work week, meaning:
Monday – Thursday working
Regular travel to sites across the UK
Overnight stays during the week
Most weekends at home

We're on the lookout for an enthusiastic Workshop Assistant, someone with a sharp eye for detail who can fit right into the team. They will be assisting our engineers and fabricators in our engineering facility based in Delph.

The assistant will take charge of keeping the workshop organised and tidy while giving a helping hand to unload/load, cut and grind materials, learning to weld, booking plant in and out for our field engineers among other tasks.

The ideal person will be determined, reliable and hard-working. In return we can offer the chance to become a key player in a quickly growing engineering company who work at the forefront of carbon saving and renewable technology.
