⚽️🧥 HELP US GET DEAL TOWN U15s READY FOR WINTER! 🧥⚽️

We’re proud to sponsor Deal Town U15s, and with winter approaching, the team are looking to get 21 new rain coats for the boys to keep them warm and dry during training, matches, warm-ups and while on the bench.

The coats are going to cost around £900, so we’ve come up with a slightly different way of raising the money — and we’re hoping the local community can help us smash the target! 💪

For the first 9 qualifying local plumbing, heating or drainage jobs booked through this fundraiser, Gaughans Group will donate £100 from each completed job directly towards the team’s coat fund.

This can include things like:

And with winter coming, it's a great time to get your boiler serviced and make sure everything is ready for the colder months.

For boiler services, Gaughans Group will donate the £100 labour charge to the coat fund, with any required parts charged separately.

I'm the engineer.
I'm the admin.

The invoices.
The marketing.
The phone calls.
The accounts.
The chasing for work.
The buying of materials.
The customer service.

And then I get up and do the actual work.

All while being a dad of 4, a fiancé and a family man. ❤️

There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes that people don't see.

I've had plenty of knockbacks. I've been knocked back time and time again, including after putting a lot of energy into helping other people.

And sometimes it feels like the only comeback stories that get recognised these days are the really dramatic ones.

But there are plenty of people quietly rebuilding their lives too.

People who just keep turning up.

Keep working.

Keep learning.

Keep improving.

Keep going when nobody is watching.

That's my journey.

I'm genuinely proud of where I am today.

Not because I've made it — because I haven't.

But because I know exactly how far I've had to come to get here.

I've built Gaughans Group from the ground up while trying to be the best dad, fiancé and person I can be.

And I'm still learning. Still investing in myself. Still pushing forward.

Hi everyone 👋

It's been a little while since I've properly introduced myself, so I thought I'd say hello.

I'm Charlie, owner of Gaughans Group, based in Deal and proudly serving customers across East Kent.

For over 15 years, I've been helping homeowners with everything from emergency plumbing and boiler breakdowns to heating repairs, drain unblocking and CCTV drain surveys.

One thing that's always been important to me is treating customers the way I'd want my own family to be treated – honest pricing, clear communication and turning up when I say I will.

When you call Gaughans Group, you'll always get me from the first phone call through to completing the job. I think that's something that's becoming harder to find these days, and it's something I'm proud of.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Customer Review

This customer had been without water for 5 days due to a leak that other plumbers had been unable to resolve.

To make matters worse, they also had an 11-month-old baby at home.

After attending the property, I located the fault, carried out the repair and got their water supply restored.

Before starting work, I also dropped off some bottled water to help while the supply was isolated.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a fantastic review. Reviews like this genuinely mean a lot to a small local business.

🚨 Emergency drainage call-out.

A customer contacted me after raw sewage started backing up through their shower and flooding the bathroom.

After attending the property, I found the drainage system completely backed up and carried out high-pressure water jetting to restore flow.

Thankfully we got everything flowing again, but the job didn't end there...

We stayed behind to start helping with the clean-up inside the property.

A slightly different day today 👨‍👦

I took my son out with me while I was working across East Kent and put him straight to work helping with a CCTV drain survey.

The customer had been experiencing recurring blockages, so we carried out a camera inspection to find the cause.

To be fair to him, he actually helped identify the issue... concrete inside the drain line causing ongoing problems.

Not a bad effort for a day's work 😅

Safe to say he was ready for a nap on the way home!

Proper chuffed with this one 👊

Picked up the Notable Networker Award at BNI Folkestone on Friday — wasn’t expecting it at all, buzzing.

Truth is, when I first joined about a year and a half ago, I weren’t really putting the effort in. I was there, but not there if you know what I mean. And running a business on your own is hard — easy to get caught up in your own bubble and not push yourself.

Last few months though, I’ve switched it right up. Showing up every single week, getting involved properly, visiting other chapters, building real connections… and now the work’s coming in.

That’s what it comes down to — you get out exactly what you put in.

Yeah it’s brought me solid local work, but bigger than that is the people. Proper good group, loads of support, everyone pushing each other to do better. And the advice you get from people who actually run businesses day in, day out — you don’t get that anywhere else.

If you’re in business and sitting on the fence about networking… it works, but only if you do.
