Dalkeith Project Complete ✔️

We're proud to have completed the restoration of the former Citizens Advice building in the heart of Dalkeith.

The iconic turret has been carefully re-slated using reclaimed Scottish slate, finished with a traditional fishtail detail to preserve the building's historic character. Alongside this, we carried out extensive roof repairs, including the installation of all new leadwork, replacement zinc valleys and gutters, and a new lime mortar skews.

This project was all about combining traditional craftsmanship with quality materials to ensure this beautiful roof is protected for generations to come.
It's a building that stands proudly in the centre of Dalkeith, and we're proud that our team's skill, attention to detail, and commitment to heritage roofing will help it stand the test of time.

Things are moving along nicely on both sites despite the very wet June weather we’ve been battling ☔

At our Moffat project, the old slates are being stripped off and the roof is being prepared for a new finish with beautiful green Brazilian slates 🇧🇷

Over at Tynninghame, the roof has been stripped, boarded and battened, with the existing tiles being carefully reused to bring this one back to life.

Both jobs have their challenges, but the team are making great progress and keeping everything moving 👏
