⚡ Consumer Unit Relocation & Protection Upgrade ⚡

Another job completed where the consumer unit was originally installed above the stairs, making it difficult and unsafe to access for maintenance or emergency isolation.

We relocated the board to a safe and accessible position above the doorway, improving accessibility, safety and compliance.

🔧 Work carried out:
• Relocation of existing consumer unit
• New containment installed using 50 × 50 trunking
• Trunking secured with D-Line fire rated clips for improved fire safety
• AFDD protection installed on all socket circuits for enhanced fire protection
• Circuits extended and reterminated neatly into the board
• Full testing carried out after relocation

AFDDs (Arc Fault Detection Devices) provide additional protection against electrical fires caused by damaged cables, loose connections or arc faults – an excellent upgrade for higher-risk properties such as HMOs.

Clean install, tidy containment and fully tested on completion. ✔️
