🌳 August Garden Care – Looking After Your Garden Through the Seasons
After a long, dry summer, August is all about maintaining structure, colour and plant health while preparing for the months ahead.
✅ Keep borders looking their best with regular weeding, deadheading and seasonal tidying
✅ Apply mulch where needed to help retain moisture and improve soil health
✅ Lightly trim lavender and other finished flowering shrubs to keep them neat and compact
✅ Monitor newly planted trees, shrubs and perennials which can be vulnerable during prolonged dry weather
✅ Check ponds and water features, removing excess growth and debris where needed
✅ Collect seeds or take cuttings from favourite plants to enjoy again next year
✅ Don't be alarmed if lawns have browned off during the dry weather. Established lawns are often dormant rather than dead and usually recover when rainfall returns.
A beautiful garden doesn't happen by accident. Our Garden Maintenance Team cares for established gardens throughout the year, taking care of all those seasonal jobs that are easy to miss when life gets busy. Here are a couple of examples of larger established gardens we care for.
Whether it's regular visits or tailored seasonal care, we help gardens look their best through every season.
🏡 Looking for bigger changes? Our Landscaping Team can help with everything from planting schemes and pergolas to patios, water features and complete garden transformations.
📅 Both teams book several weeks ahead, so it's worth getting in touch early to discuss ongoing garden care or future projects.
