This job was crazy, I'm surprised it was still up and standing! Was certainly a disaster waiting to happen, Not now, looking good now 👍

Another small garden feature wall. Built using denfind stone along in St Andrews. Client didn't want copes so we tried to replicate an old stone path look on the tops, wouldn't be my choice personally but the client loved it so that's the main thing, I suppose 🫡

Small chimney we completed for a returning client last year.

Built and pointed using traditional lime mortar.

Most if not all stones had been bedded incorrectly, and one was clearly hit with a stray cannonball...

During the takedown multiple hairline cracks were spotted and the client opted for new stone that we dressed to match.

Conservation on this property, filling out with lime and stone pinnys for days 👍 lime good, cement bad. Flush pointing good, recessed pointing bad. Sometimes "I want to see more stone", just isn't what the building needs and is practically pointless(pun intended) Too many years of neglect and smothered in cement then this is where the stone now belongs, behind a flush layer (or 4) of lime.

Keep they stone buildings happy and well looked after 🙋‍♀️

It's pretty scary that buildings like this exist, looming directly above our heads as we walk by.

This chimney was a beast of a thing, and it was held up by what I couldn't even classify as stone anymore just sand and only about 30-50mm thick!! The flues were literally hanging, I can honestly say I can't even believe this thing was stood on this gable.

Please look after your stone houses, this was scary. Big blobs of cement render on your poor stone house could be hiding all sorts of nightmares, can you imagine if this fell down, I assure you only the ground would have stopped it.

Thankfully we fixed this one but to think this was just sat in this state is mind boggling.

Wee bit Lime pointing in Kirkcaldy.

Full rake and and repoint of some horrific cement on this lovely building. Stripped it all out and repointed in the good stuff and looking fabulous for the lovely couple to enjoy, breathing better, looking better and best of all no worries with the damp now 😍👍

New chimney dressed and built in anticipation for our client fitting a log burner.

A lot of consolidation works carried out to the internals: feathers reinstated; loose stone descaled; lime washed and parged internally.

Look forward to returning in the future to install a new fire surround. 😎⚒️
