Weekly Wednesday What’s on the bench?

Nothing on the bench last week as I was attending Festival of Upholstery held in Birmingham this year.

A was a fantastic event with trades exhibiting, seminars to help with learning and reinforcing our craft. Plus a great social experience networking and chatting with lots of upholsterers from all over the uk and beyond.

I was back in the workshop on Tuesday and have since begun stripping a sheet rattan back dining chair, made a couple of lampshades and been checking out my new sample books from Iliv!

Next week the workshop is closed as I head to Decorex in London for fabric inspiration and a few days to visit family.

Weekly Wednesday What’s on the bench?
I know I’ve been super busy but can’t find too much photographic evidence to support it 🙄
I do however have a great picture of some Gyr and Perigrine falcons staying at a holiday let I was measuring up at!
A couple of dining chair fixes (before and after) and complicated ( I know they don’t look it) window seat cushions!

Weekly Wednesday What’s on the bench?
Busy week with anniversaries, birthdays and girls off to Uni but lots of chairs too!!

Recovery of 2 hotel chairs, a ladies chair which needed new trim, a full reupholster of a very elegant hall chair and two Victorian low bedroom chairs being prepared for an autumn window display!

Shout out to the couple in Comrie whose lovely nursing chair I have in the workshop to renew the trim. It’s ready but I’ve realised I don’t have a contract for you 🤦‍♀️. Hope you see this 🤞

Weekly Wednesday What’s on the bench?

Seems to have been too much admin this week but at least that means new fabrics are en route for the next jobs!
I have been stripping out a couple of chairs for a local hotel and finished a cushion that I can’t put online yet because it’s a gift!
Also I’ve added a picture of the camel stool cushion from a couple of weeks ago.

Unfortunately the workshop will be closed tomorrow, Thursday 10th September. I'll be back open as usual on Tuesday 15th at 10am.

Another busy bench week with a total rebuild of the deep button armchair started last week.
