Running a small business is something I’m incredibly proud of, but there’s a side to it that people don’t always see.

Behind Cheshire East Property Maintenance is just a normal person trying to juggle work, home, family and everything else life throws at us.

Running a business can be mentally exhausting. You’re on the tools, admin, diary manager, accountant, marketing team, cleaner and problem solver — often all in the same day!

And then there are the messages…

Sometimes I might read a message and genuinely forget to reply. Sometimes I’m working on site, sorting my diary or simply trying to switch off for a little while. It’s never personal and it certainly doesn’t mean I don’t value you.

When you care about your business, you worry about everything.

Did I reply to everyone?
Have I forgotten something?
Did I disappoint somebody?
Could I have done more?

And behind all of that, you’re still trying to be present for your family and have some sort of life outside of work.

So this is just a little reminder that behind every small business is a real person. We get tired. We get overwhelmed. We make mistakes. And sometimes there simply aren’t enough hours in the day.

I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who supports Cheshire East Property Maintenance, recommends us, chooses us to complete their jobs and shows a little patience when life gets hectic.

Supporting a small business isn’t just supporting a business — you’re supporting the person and family behind it.

Be kind. Be patient. You never really know how much someone is juggling behind the scenes.
