Tool Hire Workshop Fitter / Engineer
Location: Pet Hire Centre, Crewe.
Hours: Full time, Monday–Friday
Salary: Above minimum wage – based on experience
Holidays are 22 days plus bank holidays, Employment paid hourly plus overtime (not salaried hours 8am - 5pm = 40 hours per week)
As the director of a long-established, independent and growing tool hire business of 50 years trading., I’m looking to add a reliable and practical Workshop Fitter to our team. We take pride in running well-maintained equipment, a tidy depot, and a straightforward, supportive working environment.
The Role
You’ll be working in our workshop carrying out repairs, maintenance and servicing of a wide range of small tools and plant, ensuring everything leaves the depot safe, reliable and ready for hire.
Key Responsibilities
Repair, service and maintain small tools (petrol, diesel and electric)
Work on plant equipment including Electric power tools, petrol and diesel engined tools.
Fault-finding and diagnostics
Carry out routine inspections and safety checks
Occasional driving duties (deliveries / collections when required)
General depot duties including keeping the workshop clean, organised, efficient and registering daily maintenance in log
Supporting the wider depot team when needed
What We’re Looking For
Experience as a equipment fitter /construction plant engineer / tool hire engineer (Do not apply if you have no experience i.e. Hss, Speedy, Gap)
Good mechanical and electrical knowledge
A practical, hands-on attitude
Full UK driving licence
Reliable, honest and able to work well on your own or as part of a small team
