Recently we carried out cladding and capping works to the outer wall around an office in Basildon, Essex.
Leaks were occurring in numerous areas around the edge of the roof. The existing coping flashings were in poor condition and the front face of the wall had details where splits had occurred and water could ingress into the building.
We therefore covered the outer wall with a supporting grid and new single skin plastisol coated steel sheeting.
Oversized new plastisol coated steel coping flashings were fitted on top of the wall. These were fitted at an angle so that there was a fall on the flashings so that water drained off of them onto the roof.
This would help reduce the risk of water stain marks to the front of the flashing and cladding as well as preventing water from ponding on the flashings.
