Bank restoration completed for clients in Surrey ✅

We recently completed over 100 metres of bank reinstatement and stabilisation works for a valued repeat client in Surrey.

The project involved the installation of brushwood bundles and pre-planted coir rolls, with the banks backfilled using sediment dredged directly from the lake by our Truxor amphibious machine.

This environmentally conscious approach allowed us to:

• Use natural, sustainable materials
• Protect the bank against future erosion
• Enhance habitat creation and biodiversity
• Remove excess sediment from the lake
• Reduce costs by reusing on-site dredged material
• Minimise soil compaction and vibration through the use of amphibious machinery

Exciting progress at Cannon Hill Common Lake

We’ve been carrying out important renovation works to help protect and improve this much-loved natural space in the London Borough of Merton.

Recent works have included:
🌳 Removing dangerous and fallen trees
🪺 Replacing floating wildlife islands
💨 Installing a new aerator to improve oxygen levels and water circulation

These improvements will help support local wildlife, create healthier conditions for fish, and improve overall water quality in the lake for years to come.

It’s great to see the lake looking refreshed and thriving as we continue investing in Merton’s green spaces.

🌿 Restoring the River Wissey 🌿

Recently, our team has been carrying out river habitat improvement works on the River Wissey in partnership with Norfolk Rivers Trust to help create a healthier, more resilient river environment for wildlife and local ecosystems. 💧

Using a combination of in-channel habitat enhancements and careful vegetation management, we’re working to:
🐟 Improve habitat diversity for fish and aquatic species
🌱 Increase natural flow variation and oxygenation
🪵 Introduce more natural river features and cover
🌾 Enhance marginal habitats for insects, birds, and amphibians
🌍 Support the long-term health of the river corridor

Projects like this are all about working with nature — helping rivers function more naturally while improving biodiversity and ecological resilience for the future.

Great to see the team hard at work in the sunshine making a real difference on the ground! ☀️

A little slice of wild habitat, right in the heart of the city 🐦💙

This artificial kingfisher nesting bank in Regent’s Park is now complete! Built using natural materials like chestnut, woven Hazel, and compacted sand, it mimics the steep riverbanks kingfishers love for nesting, and even includes two ready made nests!

These vibrant birds need safe, undisturbed places to burrow—and with natural habitats declining, projects like this can make a real difference. With a bit of patience (and luck!), we’re hoping to see flashes of electric blue along the water’s edge before long.

A beautiful reminder that thoughtful design can bring wildlife back into urban spaces 🌿

🌿 River restoration works completed at Roxbourne Park 🌿

We’re pleased to share that restoration works along the Yeading Brook in Roxbourne Park have now been completed, helping to create a healthier, more natural river environment for wildlife and the local community.

Delivered as part of the Yeading Brook Unbound initiative, the project aims to restore a more natural river channel by removing artificial bank reinforcements and other man-made materials, improving river habitats, and supporting native plants and wildlife. These changes will help the brook function more naturally while enhancing biodiversity and resilience to flooding. (Crane Valley Partnership)

The works at Roxbourne Park form part of a wider programme to enhance the western arm of the Yeading Brook across several open spaces in Harrow, reconnecting the river with its surrounding landscape and creating better habitats for birds, fish, invertebrates and aquatic plants. (Crane Valley Partnership)

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the project, including local volunteers and partner organisations working to improve this important green corridor.
